India defeated England by five wickets in the series-deciding match on Sunday. They now rank higher in the ICC ODI team rankings thanks to the victory. After defeating the Jos Buttler-led team in a series, India has moved up to the third place.
Pakistan, who is in fourth place, was edged out by the Men in Blue by 106 points. With 109 points, India has just three more than their traditional rivals.
Before the England ODI series, Team India was actually ranked fifth in the ODI rankings.
With 128 points, New Zealand tops the rankings. Despite losing to India, England held onto second place. They currently have 121 points.
In the decisive game, England scored 259 goals, with Jos Buttler contributing 60. Both Yuzvendra Chahal (3/60) and Hardik Pandya (4/24) excelled at bowling for India.
In response, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya’s partnership of 133 runs helped the visitors to an easy victory. Off 113 balls, the southpaw smashed an undefeated 125.
