Newzdaddy Entertainment updates

In a thrilling revelation, director Ruchi Narain shares the behind-the-scenes story of her ambitious project, “Karmma Calling,” set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar on January 26, 2024. The series, featuring the talented Raveena Tandon as the powerful Indrani Kothari, promises a world of opulence, deceit, and betrayal.

A Vision 10 Years in the Making:

Director Ruchi Narain opens up about the lengthy journey from concept to creation. Her inspiration stemmed from Mumbai’s urban legends, weaving tales of billionaires safeguarding their wealth while projecting an ideal facade to the world. The intrigue deepened after watching the international show “Revenge,” prompting Narain to embark on an official Indian adaptation.

“When I thought of making the show a decade ago, my first choice was Raveena Tandon. She embodies everything the character of Indrani Kothari needs – glam, sass, and power,” shares Narain. However, challenges, including large-scale production, meticulous casting, and location choices, loomed over the project. Just as everything fell into place, the pandemic hit, causing delays and reshuffling priorities.

From Revenge to Karmma Calling:

The series draws inspiration from the U.S. original, “Revenge,” which captivated audiences from 2011 to 2015. Produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, the show laid the foundation for Narain’s adaptation.

A Decade Later – Bigger and Better:

Narain reflects on the challenges, setbacks, and the impact of the pandemic. She expresses gratitude for the support that kept her hopes alive. “A decade later, I am sure that I have delivered ‘Karmma Calling’ 10 times bigger and better,” she affirms.

As the curtain lifts on “Karmma Calling,” audiences can anticipate a gripping tale of wealth, power, and duplicity, brought to life by a decade-long vision and the dedication of a passionate team.
