Synopsis
We have seen Mitra Gadhvi in many comedy films but in this movie, he played an intense role of a police officer, which he has played at its best. Mitra looks suited for this particular role very well. His acting and dialogue delivery is awesome. He played the character of Mohan in the film.
RJ Devki is playing the role of a criminal journalist. This is her first appearance in Gujarati Movie. She has done one Gujarati web series on the Shemarome platform on which her acting is appreciated by everyone. She has made a good debut in Gujarati cinema. She has played her part exceedingly well and her timing is also very good.
The role of the Police commissioner is played by Sonali Lele Desai on which she has justified that she is the right person to play this role.
Review
The film “Hu Iqbal” is different from other Gujarati movies. All the movies released in this year 2023 are based on different and unique topics, so the audience will enjoy watching each Gujarati movie this year.
We have seen a lot of thriller movies from Bollywood and also in South Indian movies, but it is rare in Gujarati movies so I was very excited to see this movie. Also next week, we are going to see two other Gujarati movies which are full of mysteries and are thriller movies.
Gujarati audiences will love those movies.
The movie starts with a theft happening in the city of Ahmedabad, the theft is of 100 crores. The theft has been at 100 jewellery shops each of 1 crore, so the total amount of theft is 100 crores.
Mitra Gadhvi (Mohan) and Police Commissioner, Sonali Lele plans to catch the theft who calls himself as Iqbal.
Iqbal gives challenges to the police department and says “Aukat hoy to pakdi batavo”. It also gives a clear hint that the second part of this movie is going to come soon.
The first half of the movie you feel a bit bored as it goes into developing the character. There are a few songs which are very short and will not make you sleepy. In the second half, the movie becomes intense. In the second half also there are one or two songs but they are again very short and will not make you bored.
The background Music
The background music is excellent and does not feel like hammering, it gels with the story. Full marks to the background music director, Darshan Shah.
The story and direction and acting of “Hu Iqbal”
The direction of the movie is given by Pallav Parikh. He has not failed to impress me. His direction skills are good and a few of the ariel shots are excellent.
The story is written by Pallav Parikh and I must appreciate the concept of the movie. Also, appreciate for the brave attempt to write a thriller movie in Gujarati.
All the characters played their part very well and I did not find any lose links as far as acting is concerned.
Positive Points of the movie:
- Excellent subject and story narration.
- The dialogues are written in a normal way.
- Full marks to Pallav Parikh for his writing and direction.
- The background music is fine and not ear-bursting.
- The climax is still not come. There will be a second part very soon.
- The climax is still unpredicted, thats the strongest part.
Negative points of the movie:
- No comedy scenes or dialogues.
- No romantic scene in the movie makes the movie bit boring.
- The lack of romantic scenes and exotic scenes makes the movie little sour.
- No action scenes, hence the movie does not give any excitement strong intense or serious kind of movie.

This is a good movie to watch at least once, because of the suspense and thriller. The work of Mitra Gadvi, RJ Devki and Sonali Lele is awesome. They all fit the characters and have played their roles very well.
