Plot Of The Movie

If you’re in the mood for a feel-good Gujarati movie that tugs at your heartstrings, “Ittaa Kittaa” is the one to watch. It all begins on the night of Janmashtami when Kavya gets this sudden baby fever. But hold on, there’s a twist – turns out, she can’t conceive. The heartbreak of the Jariwala family.

So, what do Kavya (Mansi) and Nirav (Raunaq) do? They decide to adopt. But here’s the kicker – they accidentally end up adopting not one but two girls, aged 7 and 13. And that’s where the rollercoaster of emotions begins.

But it’s not all serious stuff. The accidental adoption brings a lot of laughs, balancing out the emotional moments. The movie doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s part of its charm.

The movie takes you through the ups and downs of parenthood, love, and family dynamics.  What happens next is the story to watch in the theatre.

Acting

The performances are top-notch, with the lead actors Raunaq Kamdar, Mansi Parekh Alpana Buch, Jia Vaidya, Princy Prajapati & Prashant Barot bringing a realness to their characters. Kavya and Nirav’s chemistry is so genuine that you can’t help but root for them.

Raunaq has always been one of my favourite Gujarati Hero is superb as he is always.  The video recording scene he played is just awesome.  The scene requires crying and is full of emotions, Raunaq performed it exceptionally well.  When we talk of our Bollywood bhai Jaan, Salman, when it comes to crying, he looks so aweful on the big screen.

The movie also has some light comedy scenes and here Raunaq steals the show.

He has everything in him, he can do romance, emotions, anger, and comedy all these actions are just natural to him.  Raunaq is a far better actor than anyone else, trust me.

Mansi’s performance is also admirable in “Ittaa Kittaa”, she has proved to herself that she is one of the best actresses in the Gujarati Film Industry. The role of a middle-aged mother she performed is great.

The rest of the actor’s performance is also fine.

Let’s Talk a Bit About Technical Aspects

Dialogues

The story and script are written very nicely and it seems that these all things are happening in your own life.  The dialogues are written in a layman’s language, and few of them do make an impact on our minds.

The cinematography captures the essence of Gujarati urban culture, giving you a vibrant and colourful cinematic experience.

The soundtrack is a gem, syncing perfectly with the emotional beats of the story and when the traditional Gujarati music kicks in during cultural celebrations, it adds that extra layer of authenticity.

There are two songs in the movie which flow with the story so will not bore you anyway.  The songs are sung by lots of singers one of which is Aditya Gadhvi.

Direction:

The direction of the movie is very good, few of the shots of the bungalow and closeups of the actors are taken very nicely. The camera angles and range of shots enhance the happiness of the movie experience.

Now, let’s talk about the nitty-gritty.

While “Itta Kittaa” does a fantastic job at pulling your heartstrings, there are moments when you might wish they’d hit the fast-forward button. Some scenes could use a bit of trimming to keep things flowing smoothly.

The dialogues are written very nicely and do make sense. There is no nudity, vulgarity, abusive language, brutality, or violence shown in the movie.

Themes and Messages

Not all films are made for the message of society at large; however, “Ittaa Kittaa” is a movie that gives a message to all ages that love and caring are the only things that should be spread across the family.

Negative Points (my personal opinion)

  1. The story of the movie is predictable.
  2. I also felt a bit bored in the middle phase of the movie.
  3. There are only two songs, I was expecting one song with children.
  4. The movie showed the boyish look and behaviour initially of Vidhi (Jia) but that did not continue and the girlish behaviour was shown, which was a bit surprise for me.
  5. I also felt a lack of comedy punches, as per the plot of the story, there could be many comedy punches and situations created.

Positive points (my personal opinion)

  1. The strongest point of the movie is the acting of lead actors, Raunaq and Mansi full marks to you guys.
  2. The direction of the movie by Abhinn – Manthann is top-notch.
  3. The story is not new but is surely engaging.
  4. The production value of the movie is fine.
  5. The DOP of the movie is awesome.
  6. The perfect chemistry between Raunaq and Mansi is visible on the screen.
  7. Two songs which are enhancing the film and story.

In a nutshell, “Itta Kittaa” is a heartwarming Gujarati flick that dishes out the family drama with a side of laughter. The pacing might hiccup here and there, but the overall warmth of the story, relatable characters, and cultural richness make it a movie worth watching.

So, if you’re up for a blend of emotions and a good dose of humour, grab the popcorn and give “Itta Kittaa” a go.
