The well-known Tollywood actor Balakrishna is back with Veera Simha Reddy, another potent movie. Today was the film’s premiere, which Gopichand Malineni directed.

Story

Living in Istanbul are Jaya Simha Reddy (Balakrishna), and his mother, Meenakshi (Honey Rose). He decides to marry Eesha (Shruti Haasan) after falling in love with her. Then Meenakshi reveals Veera Simha Reddy, who resides in Rayalaseema and is in charge of Pulicharla, to be Jaya’s father. For the past 30 years, Bhanumathi (Varalaxmi) and Pratap Reddy (Duniya Vijay) had wanted to murder Veera Simha Reddy. Why do they want Veera to die? Bhanumathi, who is she? Veera Simha Reddy left his wife and son, but why? The primary film will provide the answers to all of these queries.

Gaining Ground

Nandamuri Balakrishna should be mentioned as the first positive. He carries the weight of the entire movie alone. The most valuable qualities are Balayya’s regal appearance, charm, swagger, and flair. His abrasive demeanor during action scenes and language delivery is effective. Balakrishna once more demonstrated his status as the common man’s deity. It is important to recognize how well he performed throughout the second half’s emotionally charged sequences. In a few songs, he also dazzles with his vivacious dancing.

The audience would be surprised by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s performance as Bhanumathi. She has performed in a number of violent parts in the past, but this movie’s character is well-designed, and she absolutely kills the face-off scenes with Balayya. One of the main strengths of the film is her performance in the second half.

Pratap Reddy, played by Duniya Vijay, who seeks to exact revenge on Veera Simha Reddy, is the other character that deserves praise. His brutality is beautifully displayed. The TFI sees another superb talent playing a villain in his Tollywood first film. His confrontational scenes with Balakrishna are entertaining to watch and deserving of whistles.

Honey Rose has a respectable start and is given plenty of opportunities to shine in various scenarios. Siddappa actor Lal, Sekhar actor Naveen Chandra, and others were convincing in their parts.

The first half of the script is racy, and the filmmaker does a great job of creating each and every character. With this movie, Gopichand proves he is capable of helming a pure action comedy. Both the background score and the songs are excellent. Once more demonstrating their ability to create stunts that keep spectators on the edge of their seats, Ram and Lakshman.

Negative Points:

In this regard, the story comes in first. The director opts for a formulaic plot that has been used in numerous previous films. But he effectively runs the show thanks to his well-written screenplay. Compared to the first half, the second half drags a little bit. Additionally, it is predictable in the interim. Most of the sequences in the second half, particularly in the flashback episode, ought to have been cut.

Although Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has a substantial role in this film, her older appearance is not particularly stunning. The makeup professionals ought to have taken greater care of her appearance because she appears pale in numerous scenes.

Shruti Haasan is only allowed to appear in a few sequences and songs. Although she is a talented dancer, the director needs to have given her a few more scenes, at least in the second part. The movie makes no use of Eeswari Rao.

Technical Details

The script was excellent, and the filmmaker deserves praise for it. However, the second half drags a bit. There are numerous slowdowns throughout the second half. The story should have received more of the director’s attention because it can add intrigue to the movie.

To improve the viewing experience, some parts in the flashback episode should be cut. Rishi Punjabi’s camerawork and Thaman’s music deserve attention. They did amazing work, which contributed to the movie is fantastic. Additionally, the art section gives it all. You can notice the high-quality production values on the huge screen.

Verdict:

Overall, Veera Simha Reddy is a passable action movie with all the necessary commercial components to please Balakrishna fans. Both Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Balakrishna deliver astounding performances as Veera Simha Reddy. The second half is largely disappointing; if it had been as interesting as the first, the movie would have been a box-office smash. Fans will enjoy it, and action fans will find it to be a decent experience. Watch it this Sankranthi to take in the Balayya crowd.
