Rise with Youthful Leadership, Transform Bar!
Youthful Leadership Ignites Dynamic Power, Passionate Vision Strengthens GHAA Family
Now is the time to make the Bar more modern, strong and future-oriented by giving opportunities to young leadership with the blessings of seniors: Darshan Shah Advocate Darshan Shah’s candidacy for the post of GHAA President – Vision of a modern bar with youthful leadership A young practicing advocate of the Gujarat High Court, Darshan Shah, has declared his candidacy for the post of President in the upcoming elections of the Gujarat High Court Advocates Association (GHAA), the voting of which is scheduled to be held on 19 December 2025. Advocate Darshan Shah said that the purpose of his candidacy is to create a modern, transparent and supportive Bar Association, where young advocates get proper training, opportunities and representation, and at the same time, the experience and guidance of senior advocates are institutionalised. He said that in today’s time, there is a significant proportion of young and new advocates in the Bar, but at the time of entry into practice, they have to face problems like a lack of learning opportunities, job opportunities and guidance. Having experienced these challenges himself, he wants to make the Bar a platform where experience and energy work together.
With this vision in mind, Advocate Darshan Shah’s main focus is on three practical and actionable areas. Firstly, he wants to work towards developing an institutional platform for learning and teaching under the GHAA, where senior advocates can guide young advocates through their experience and knowledge on drafting, research, courtcraft and advocacy skills. He aims to strengthen the professional capacity of the Bar through regular workshops, seminars and practical training. Secondly, he wants to create a transparent platform for giving and receiving work, so that senior advocates and chambers can easily find young advocates for the necessary drafting, research or court work and young advocates get real practice experience and employment opportunities.
This initiative will prove to be mutually beneficial for both sections of the Bar, he said. Thirdly, Advocate Darshan Shah is determined to bring more effective and easy use of technology in the daily work of the Bar. He wants to work towards GHAA Tech Help Desk, guidance for e-filing and digital documentation, tech facilities in the library and common areas and a simple digital complaint-suggestion system, so that the work of the Advocates becomes more efficient and time-saving. Advocate Darshan Shah clarified that his candidature is not against any senior Advocate or any group, but for the institutional strength, unity and future readiness of the Bar. He wants to create new opportunities and responsibilities for the young Advocates, keeping the respect and advice of the senior Advocates at the centre. Finally, he appealed to all the members of the Bar that GHAA is a family. Now is the time to make the Bar more modern, strong and future-oriented by giving a chance to young leadership with the blessings of seniors. On 19 December 2025, he made a humble appeal to give a chance to a young, responsible and proactive president.
