Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt will once again share the screen in Karan Johar’s upcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani following Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. After Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Karan makes his directing debut with this movie (2016).
Ranveer Singh recently discussed this much-awaited love drama, which also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in key parts, in an interview with a news website.
In an interview with Bollywoodlife, the Jayeshbhai Jordaar actor described Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani as a classic Karan Johar production that embodies everything that fans love about his comedies. “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is a quintessential Karan Johar movie, it’s vintage Karan Johar,” Ranveer was quoted as saying by the news portal. “Everything you love about his films – the songs, the glamour, the good-looking leads, the family dynamics, the pulpy drama, the humor, the romance, it’s all packed in there; every trope you’ve seen in Karan Johar movies, his brand of cinema The movie began filming in August of last year, and we have already seen several behind-the-scenes photos (BTS) of Ranveer and Alia on the set.
Previously, Karan Johar claimed that with this Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt film, he is delving into the classic Bollywood movie genre. Karan Johar was addressing the ABP Networks Ideas of India Summit. The director stated, “As filmmakers, we are all making a lot of effort to push the edge, break the mold, and go beyond conventional limitations. But we’ve also forgotten that what we’re known for—the classic Bollywood, with its heart on its sleeve, songs, dance for no reason, and theatrics and drama that don’t seem real—had a certain innocence and purity to it. I said, “Let’s try it again.”
Coming back to Ranveer Singh, he has Cirkus by Rohit Shetty in the works in addition to Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
