Movie Review: Saiyaara – A Familiar Tune That Still Tugs at the Heart
Saiyaara movie is a musical romantic drama that will remind you of Aashiqui 2, Rockstar, or even Sanam Teri Kasam. However, the movie has its own latest emotional way through good performances and an outstanding music album. The movie is directed by Mohit Suri, and again he has directed this movie in his typical signature emotional style. The Saiyaara movie captures the pain, passion, and healing power of music and love.
🌟 Plot & Characters:
The film revolves around two artists — one a songwriter and the other a singer. Both of their hearts are broken by their past and they meet by fate. Through music and moments of togetherness, they begin to heal their painful past. However, their journey together is also not smooth. There are emotional twists, sacrifices, and a slow-burning love story that might feel very personal to many young viewers.
The first half moves well and keeps the audience hooked. The second half stretches a bit, but the emotional payoff, especially towards the climax, feels satisfying. There’s even a twist involving the female lead that gives the story a dramatic punch.
Performances:
The newcomer Ahaan Panday is the nephew of Chunky Pandey, delivers a surprisingly strong performance. However, he maintains a consistent, aggressive and serious facial expression throughout the movie. You can say that this may be the requirement of the script. intensity that suits his character’s troubled mindset. His co-star Aneet Padda is also a newcomer. She also does justice to her role, and together they carry the film with good performance, and their onscreen chemistry is superb.
🎶 Music:
The biggest highlight is undoubtedly the music of this movie. Mohit Suri has once again delivered a beautiful album. Tracks from Saiyaara are on their way to becoming youth anthems, much like Aashiqui 2 songs once were. This album could easily be a top favourite of 2025.
👎 Weak Points:
- Some parts, especially the second half, feel dragged.
- The way the girl’s parents are shown — too liberal and casual — feels unrealistic.
- Predictable moments, especially for those who’ve watched similar love stories before.
✅ Strengths:
- Heart-touching music.
- Strong debut performances.
- Emotionally resonant storytelling.
- Appeals to the youth and their inner romantic struggles.
Family-Friendly?
Not completely. There are no abusive words or double-meaning phrases, but there are a few kissing scenes and also some bikini shots in the movie, which a family may feel awkward watching together. It is completely your discretion to watch the Saiyaara movie with the family.
🎬 Final Verdict:
Saiyaara movie will not give you anything new; however, it has emotions, love, romance and heartbreaks, which are relevant for the youth of today. If you like romantic movies such as Aashiqui 2, Rockstar, etc. then you will definitely love the Saiyaara movie.
