The newly opened shelter is designed to house 600 animals, providing them with a comfortable and safe environment. Constructed with donations amounting to ₹1 crore, the facility features air-conditioned spaces to ensure the well-being of its residents. The shelter is part of a larger 1,200-acre area owned by the organisation, which currently cares for 2,300 animals.
Beyond providing shelter, the organisation has implemented sustainable practices to support the animals. Rainwater harvesting systems have been developed, and existing ponds have been deepened to ensure a year-round water supply. Additionally, over 5,000 native trees have been planted, creating a natural habitat and promoting biodiversity. The cultivation of natural grass within the premises further contributes to a self-sufficient ecosystem.
In a pioneering move, an animal ambulance equipped with modern medical facilities was introduced in Ahmedabad. This mobile unit includes an operating room, anaesthesia equipment, oxygen cylinders, a freezer for medications, a geyser, and fire safety gear.
