During the farmer’s movement, Sandeep Nangal was also one of the main organizers of langar organized by state athletes for farmers at the Singhu border in Delhi.

Sandeep Nangal Ambiya, an international Kabaddi player, was shot and killed by four unidentified youngsters during a Kabaddi competition in the Malian Kalan hamlet of Nakodar in Punjab’s Jalandhar on Monday evening, according to police. According to the police, one of Sandeep’s buddies was also injured in the event by bullets.

Sandeep was visiting India to organize kabaddi competitions and attend weddings in Punjab. The president of the Major League Kabaddi Federation and the Shahkot Lions Kabaddi Cup was the former captain of the Indian squad in ‘circle-style’ kabaddi. He also played goalkeeper for the Shahkot Lions. Sandeep was aiming to remove drug problems among kids through athletics, according to his close friends and coworkers.

He was also one of the main organizers of the langar for farmers at the Singhu border in Delhi, which was hosted by the state’s athletes. Last year, he flew down from England to take part in the farmers’ agitation.

Sandeep was a hugely popular player on the international kabaddi circuit, regularly appearing in leagues in the United Kingdom, the United States, New Zealand, and Australia, as well as being a regular member of the Indian national team, which frequently faced the majority of the Lahore Lions players in India-Pakistan World Cup clashes.

Captain Amarinder Singh, the former Chief Minister of Punjab, expressed his astonishment at Sandeep’s murder on Tuesday. “The assassination of international kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambiaan in broad daylight was shocking. The perpetrators must be apprehended as soon as possible and subjected to harsh punishment. Amarinder Singh wrote, “My sincere sympathies to his supporters and the bereaved family.”

“Sandeep had come here for his team’s kabaddi match and around 6 pm in the evening, four unidentified youths in a Swift car opened fire at him, killing Sandeep on the spot and injuring one of his friends, whose condition is now stable,” said SSP Satinder Singh of Jalandhar Rural Police, who arrived on the scene.

“We did a preliminary investigation,” the SSP said, “but the cause of the attack is yet unknown, though the killers will be apprehended shortly.”

As soon as the incident was reported, Inderjit Kaur, a newly appointed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Nakodar, was on the scene and criticized the incident, saying, “The law and order situation in Punjab was already unsettled, but similar occurrences are happening to malign the new government.” The SSP has been told to apprehend the killers as quickly as possible.”
