Second day second upset of T20 World Cup 2022

Scotland beating West Indies.

The second match between West Indies and Scotland also was an upset match.  Two times T20 World Cup champions West Indies were comprehensively beaten by an Associate nation by 43 runs.

We saw something new and innovative from Scotland bowler Mark Watt.  He bowled a few balls from 24 yards, too far behind the popping crease. This could have led the batsman to guess that the bowler is still running but suddenly he bowls.

Scotland scored around 160 in their allotted 20 overs losing 5 wickets. The top scorer for Scotland was Munsey who scored 66 not out.

West Indies started their innings with a great scoring rate and were going great guns; however, when the spinners were introduced, the West Indian batter could not play them well and two Scottish spinners took 5 West Indian wickets in just 27 runs.

This shows that the West Indian players are not very comfortable against the spinners and they find it difficult to score runs against them.

Mark Watt from Scotland was exceptional and took 3 wickets for just 12 runs.

From the West Indies side, former West Indian captain Jason Holder holder one end of the crease but was not able to sail the boat to the destination and was perished at the end after scoring 38 (33).

West Indies got all out at 118 and were defeated by 42 runs.

This is another upset in two days.  Permanent member teams Sri Lanka and West Indies are been defeated by the Associated member teams.

We may be seeing big upsets in this edition of the T20 World Cup.
