Ahmedabad witnessed a rare mix of culture, celebration, and national pride this January as actor Nakuul Mehta arrived in the city during Uttarayan to be part of two of Gujarat’s most loved events, the International Kite Festival and the annual Flower Show. His visit came just days before the release of his upcoming series Space Gen: Chandrayaan on JioHotstar, a show produced by The Viral Fever that tells the story of India’s historic lunar journey.

The International Kite Festival is one of Gujarat’s biggest cultural events and is celebrated every year during Makar Sankranti. People from across India and many other countries gather in Ahmedabad to fly colourful kites, making the city’s skyline a symbol of joy and togetherness. This festival is also known for bringing communities together, cutting across age, language, and background. Nakuul Mehta’s presence added to the excitement, especially for young fans and families who had gathered to celebrate the day.

Ahmedabad, January 13, 2026: Gujarat ki fiza mein iss baar sirf patang nahi udi, desh ka garv bhi aasman chhoo gaya. As the skies lit up for the International Kite Festival during Uttarayan, actor Nakuul Mehta attended the coveted event, celebrating by flying kites, interacting with fans, and speaking about his upcoming series on JioCinema, Space Gen: Chandrayaan. He celebrated not just the festival but the indomitable spirit of the scientists who transformed the setback of Chandrayaan-2 into the historic triumph of Chandrayaan-3.

India’s Chandrayaan programme holds a special place in the country’s scientific history. Chandrayaan-2, launched in 2019, faced a major setback when its lander could not complete a soft landing. Instead of giving up, Indian scientists studied the failure in detail and returned stronger. In 2023, Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the Moon’s south pole, making India the first country to achieve this feat. The mission demonstrated to the world that learning from failure is a crucial part of progress.

The show brings forward the emotional, human, and scientific journey behind India’s landmark lunar mission vividly to life for audiences across the nation.

Unlike many space stories that focus only on technology, Space Gen: Chandrayaan highlights the people behind the mission. Scientists, engineers, and support staff worked for years under pressure, often away from their families. Their teamwork, patience, and belief made the success possible. This human angle helps viewers, especially young students, understand that science is done by ordinary people with extraordinary determination.

Adding to the celebrations, Gujarat became a living canvas of India’s scientific legacy as Nakuul Mehta also visited the Flower Show Park, where a striking Chandrayaan rocket made entirely of flowers drew crowds and admiration.

The Ahmedabad Flower Show is known for its creative displays and attracts thousands of visitors every year. This time, the floral Chandrayaan installation stood out. Made using thousands of fresh flowers, it symbolised how science and culture walk hand in hand in India. Such displays help bring complex scientific achievements closer to the public simply and visually.

Adding to the grandeur of ambience, Nakuul invited his fans to be a part of the moment–clicking pictures, sharing excitement.

Public figures often play a strong role in connecting stories to people. By interacting closely with fans, Nakuul helped spark conversations about space science, national pride, and learning from failure. For many young visitors, meeting a popular actor while learning about Chandrayaan made the experience more memorable.

The experience reflected the very heart of Space Gen: Chandrayaan, a story about setbacks, perseverance, and the unwavering determination that led to one of India’s proudest achievements, as the series gears up for its release on 23rd January on JioHotstar.

Nakuul Mehta shared, “Attending the Gujarat International Kite Festival during Uttarayan was emotional for me. I feel proud to bring here a show I am so incredibly proud of, it’s a surreal feeling. This isn’t just about a series. It’s about celebrating the spirit of India. Space Gen: Chandrayaan represents resilience: the courage to face failure, learn from it, and rise again stronger. Being here during a festival that celebrates new beginnings felt incredibly powerful. I’m excited for audiences to experience the show on JioHotstar from 23rd January”

Festivals like Uttarayan mark fresh starts and hope, which fit closely with the message of the Chandrayaan story. The idea of starting again after failure is something many Indians relate to, whether in studies, work, or daily life.

He further added that Space Gen: Chandrayaan goes beyond the usual space narrative. “The series focuses on the human side of history, the scientists who refused to give up after Chandrayaan-2 and worked relentlessly to make Chandrayaan-3 a success. It’s a story of grit, teamwork, and belief. I feel truly honoured to be part of a project that brings these unsung heroes and their journey to the forefront, and I can’t wait for audiences to experience this inspiring story when it premieres on JioHotstar.”

Highlighting the significance of the flower show Chandrayaan installation, Nakuul said, “Standing beside the Chandrayaan rocket made entirely of flowers was surreal. It beautifully symbolises how science and culture coexist in India. Interacting with fans there reminded me that this mission belongs to every Indian; it’s our collective achievement. I hope Space Gen: Chandrayaan inspires young minds to dream fearlessly and believe that even after setbacks, history can be written.”

As Ahmedabad celebrated kites, flowers, and science together, the message was clear. India’s space journey is not only about reaching the Moon, but also about inspiring the next generation to aim high, stay patient, and never stop believing.
