“Women-in-Business Camp” is a program that SEWA Bank hosts to empower microentrepreneurs.
The “Women-in-Business Camp” was held at The Fern Hotel in Ahmedabad by Shri Mahila Sewa Sahakari Bank Ltd., India’s first women’s bank catering to the unorganised sector. SEWA Bank, which was founded in 1974 and currently has 13 branches around Gujarat, provides self-employed women with banking services, financial literacy, and counselling.
The Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and SEWA Bank teamed up in 2022 to assist female entrepreneurs during their expansion stage. They collaborated to create a new financial product and training curriculum aimed at improving microentrepreneurs’ business acumen.
Thirty-three female micro-entrepreneurs from a variety of industries, including the dairy, cosmetics, catering, clothing manufacturing, and imitation jewellery, attended the event. After completing the training sessions, these women received recognition for their accomplishments at the camp.
Chief General Manager Ms. Vandana Shah, German partners Ms. Bettina Wittlinger and Ms. Maren Richter, and SEWA Bank Managing Director Ms. Jayshree Vyas attended the ceremony.
With more than 6 lakh female members, SEWA Bank carries on its 51-year history of empowering women by offering cutting-edge products and committed assistance to achieve their financial independence. By providing them with solutions to grow their businesses, Sewa Bank aims to empower these microentrepreneurs.
