Announcement of Shilp Aarambh GIFT CITY RUN – Season 2
On the 6th of January 2024, the Shilp and Snehshilp Foundation joyously declared the upcoming second edition of the Shilp Aarambh – GIFT City Run. Scheduled for the 18th of February 2024 at GIFT City, Gandhinagar, this run marks a crucial step towards raising awareness and garnering support for the noble cause of eliminating drug addiction and substance abuse, with a special emphasis on the well-being of our valuable youth.
Mary Kom: The Face of the Prestigious Run
Renowned boxer MARY KOM, a six-time AIBA Women’s World Champion and Olympic medalist from the 2012 London Olympics, has been announced as the Brand Ambassador for Shilp Aarambh – GIFT City Run. Her inspiring presence is set to motivate and encourage participants in this significant endeavour towards a drug-free nation.
Mrs. Snehal Brahmbhatt, the Founder of Snehshilp Foundation, expressed the foundation’s vision of the youth as the true assets of the nation. Acknowledging the pivotal role of the youth, she stressed the importance of investing in their holistic development while safeguarding them from the pitfalls of drug addiction. The foundation aligns its mission with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat@2047: Voice of Youth, recognizing the youth as both agents and beneficiaries of change.
Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and Fit India Initiatives
In line with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and Fit India initiatives, Shilp and Snehshilp Foundation have taken a commendable step by organizing Shilp Aarambh – GIFT City Run. This initiative reflects their commitment to supporting the national mission of a healthier and drug-free India.
Support from Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI)
The initiative has garnered support from the Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI), an organization dedicated to the development and awareness of physical education and sports in the country. This collaboration underscores the collective effort to promote physical fitness and well-being.
Mary Kom, the pride of Indian boxing, will not only serve as the Brand Ambassador but will also inspire the runners with her motivating presence. Her involvement adds a layer of significance to the run, emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering a healthy lifestyle.

At the press conference, notable figures including Prof. Dr. Arjunsinh Rana, Vice Chancellor of Swarnim Gujarat Sports University & President PEFI – Gujarat, Dr. Akash Gohil, GTU Sports Officer, Mr. R. M. Chaudhari, District Education Officer, Ahmedabad City, and Surpreet Singh Khalsa (Suri Paaji), Race Director, expressed their happiness in associating with Shilp Aarambh Gift City Season 2 run. The event is poised to become the biggest International Run, attracting both international and domestic runners, with the number of participants expected to surpass 20,000.

The lush green environment, clean air, and a meticulously planned route at GIFT City make this run a standout event. Participants will be awarded AIMS Certificates for their participation, adding a prestigious element to the run.
