In Mumbai, Shiv Kumar Subramaniam died away. He’s appeared in a number of films, including 2 States, Hichki, Nail Polish, Rocky Handsome, and others. He lost his only kid two months ago to a brain tumor.

Shiv Kumar Subramaniam, an actor, and screenwriter has died. Sanya Malhotra’s onscreen father was played by an outstanding actor in Meenakshi Sundareshwar. Actress Ayesha Raza Mishra posted a message on her Facebook page on Monday, saying, “Rest in peace, Shiv.” Aur kya kahen kya kahen kya kahen kya (What more can I say). My friend, be pain-free and rest.”

Subramaniam’s burial and cremation will take place at Mumbai’s Mokshdham Hindu Shamshanbhoom on Monday morning. “Gutted to hear this news,” filmmaker Bina Sarwar tweeted. It was especially heartbreaking because it occurred just two months after his and Divya’s only child, Jahaan, died of a brain tumor two weeks before his 16th birthday.”

“In loving memory of Shiv Subrahmanyam,” the whole note said. We regret to tell you of the demise of one of the most dignified and noble spirits to ever occupy human form – our dearest Shiv Subrahmanyam – with deep and heartfelt sorrow. He was a phenomenally talented man who was adored and respected both personally and professionally. We send our profound sympathies to his wife Divya, her mother, father, Rohan, Rinki, and family; Bhanu chitti and Shiv’s entire family; and his countless friends and admirers. Please be advised that the funeral will leave Shishira, Yamuna Nagar, Lokhandwala Back Road, Andheri West at 10 a.m. on April 11, 2012. Mokshdham Hindu Shamshanbhoomi, Ceasar Rd, Amboli, Andheri West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400058.”

In 1989, Shiv Kumar Subramaniam began his cinematic career by authoring the script for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Parinda. Other notable films for which he is responsible include 1942: A Love Story, Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin, Arjun Pandit, Chameli, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, and Teen Patti. For Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Parinda, Subramaniam received Filmfare awards for Best Story and Best Screenplay, respectively.

Subramaniam went on to play supporting roles in films later on. He appeared in films like 2 States, Rocky Handsome, Hichki, Happy Journey, Risk, Prahaar, Ungli, Bangistan, Kaminey, Stanley Ka Dabba, and others.
