Dr Praveenbhai Garg, the founder of Shri Sankatmochan Mahavir Hanuman Temple in Rancharda, Ahmedabad, shared that a special religious event will be held at the temple on Sunday, 19 October 2025, starting from 3:00 PM. The Shri Sankatmochan Mahavir Hanuman Temple has become an important spiritual place for people living in and around Ahmedabad. Rancharda village, which was once known mainly for its peaceful environment, is now slowly becoming known for its devotional activities. Events like this bring together hundreds of devotees from different parts of Gujarat. In Hindu traditions, special religious gatherings are planned during the festive season, especially around Diwali, as it is believed to be an auspicious time to pray and offer thanks to the deities.

The program will begin with Vedic chanting and Shakti worship, followed by a Havan (holy fire ritual).

Vedic chanting is one of the oldest forms of spiritual practice in India. It involves the recitation of mantras from the four Vedas and is believed to create a peaceful and powerful atmosphere. Shakti worship is performed to honour the divine feminine energy, which is seen as the force that protects and nurtures life. Havan, the holy fire ritual, is performed by offering ghee, herbs, and grains into a sacred fire while chanting mantras. This is said to purify the surroundings and the mind of the devotees. Such rituals are not only religious but also bring the community together in a spirit of unity and devotion. At 5:30 PM, there will be a grand Sundarkand recitation, highlighting the greatness of Lord Hanuman. After that, at 7:15 PM, a Maha Aarti will be performed with devotion. Finally, at 7:30 PM, devotees will receive Mahaprasad (holy food).

Sundarkand is a chapter from the Ramayana that focuses on Lord Hanuman’s bravery, strength, and loyalty. Reciting the Sundarkand is believed to remove obstacles, bring peace, and fill the heart with courage. Many Hanuman devotees make it a habit to read the Sundarkand every Tuesday or Saturday. Maha Aarti is a grand prayer ceremony that includes singing devotional songs and lighting lamps in front of the deity. It creates a deeply spiritual atmosphere. Mahaprasad, which is offered after the rituals, is not just food but a sacred blessing shared among all devotees, showing equality and togetherness.

Dr. Praveenbhai expressed his happiness and said that the temple had completed one year on 23 August 2025. With the blessings of Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj, the temple is growing beautifully as a place of faith and devotion.

Completing one year is a significant milestone for any temple. Over the past year, the temple has organised many devotional programs, attracting not only local visitors but also people from other states. Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj was a great saint whose teachings focused on love, service, and devotion to God. Many famous people, including Apple’s Steve Jobs and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, were inspired by his teachings and visited his ashram in India. His blessings are believed to guide spiritual growth and bring peace to those who visit the temple.

This temple is the fourth in India to have a sleeping idol of Lord Hanuman, which has become a special attraction for devotees. The sleeping idol of Hanumanji is rare. Most Hanuman idols are shown in a standing or flying posture. The sleeping form represents deep meditation and inner strength. The first such idol is in Salasar Balaji, Rajasthan; another famous one is in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The sleeping posture symbolises that even when Hanuman rests, he is always alert to protect his devotees. This unique idol in Rancharda has attracted many visitors who come to witness this rare spiritual form.

Everyone is warmly invited to attend this grand and holy celebration with their families to receive blessings and experience spiritual joy. Invitations to such religious events are open to all, regardless of background. These gatherings strengthen cultural bonds, allow families to pray together, and pass on spiritual values to the younger generation. Events like this help keep traditions alive in a modern world and remind people of the power of faith and community.
