Sourav Ganguly, the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has tested positive for Covid-19. The Coronavirus test was performed on Monday night, according to reports.

Meanwhile, the former Indian captain is being treated at Kolkata’s Woodlands Hospital. Ganguly has a viral load of 19.5. Ganguly is also believed to be in isolation at the moment. His blood samples will be sent to genome sequencing to determine whether or not he has contracted the Omicron variation.

There has been a dramatic rise in the Covid-19 cases in the country since the past week or so. Kolkata also reported 544 cases on Sunday.

In January 2021, Ganguly faced a cardiac arrest and had to be admitted to the same hospital. Sourav Ganguly suffered a heart attack following which he was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata. Ganguly had undergone angioplasty and was stable within days.

Since the last week or so, the number of Covid-19 cases in the country has risen dramatically. On Sunday, 544 cases were registered in Kolkata.

Ganguly had a heart collapse in January 2021 and had to be admitted to the same hospital. Sourav Ganguly was brought to a hospital in Kolkata after suffering a heart attack. Ganguly had undergone angioplasty and was back to normal in a matter of days.
