Students from Adani Public School Win Top Prize for Recyclable Drone at National Competition

Students at Adani Public School in Mundra have achieved national recognition by clinching the first prize at the Metaverse 1.0 competition held in Ludhiana, Punjab. The competition, hosted by the DCM Young Entrepreneurs School, featured talented young participants from across the country, and the Adani Public School (APS) team’s gorilla drone project stood out among the 24 competitors. Sahil Sati, Dhruvansh Mankad, and Shubham Shamdasani, APS students, collaborated to create this remarkable device.

What makes this drone special is that it’s made from recyclable materials, specifically PVC pipes. This innovative approach not only makes it environmentally friendly but also affordable. The students built this functional drone in the school’s Atal Technical Lab (ATL) under the guidance of their instructor, Dhwani Acharya.

The gorilla drone has practical applications, particularly in aerial photography and video recording. The APS team’s hard work and creativity earned them the top spot in the competition. As a reward, they received a Microsoft 365 subscription, a certificate, Minecraft: Education Edition for a year, and a cash prize of Rs. 7,000.

APS Principal Mayur Patadia expressed his pride in the students’ achievement, highlighting the school’s commitment to nurturing students’ skills in artificial intelligence and robotics. He emphasized that APS encourages students to participate in competitions and showcase their talents.

Following their success with the drone project, APS students are now busy working on a new project: a humanoid robot. This robot will not only move, dance, and play football but will also be capable of conversing like a human. The school continues to foster a spirit of innovation and creativity among its students, paving the way for more impressive achievements in the future.
