SVPIA Gears Up for Winter with New Routes and Enhanced Travel Experience

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in Ahmedabad is set to transform the travel experience this winter with the introduction of new flight routes and increased frequency in popular sectors. As of October 27, 2024, and running until March 29, 2025, passengers can enjoy enhanced connectivity within India and abroad, thanks to the winter flight schedule.

New Domestic Connections for Seamless Travel

In the latest schedule, SVPIA has broadened its reach across India. New non-stop flights are now available to Guwahati, Hisar, Keshod, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, and Thiruvananthapuram, expanding options for travelers looking to explore the country more conveniently. Travelers can also look forward to more convenient one-stop flights to Agartala, Dimapur, and Port Blair. These additional routes cater to the increasing demand for domestic travel and connect Ahmedabad to previously less accessible locations.

A Fresh Global Reach with International Routes

SVPIA’s global connections are also seeing a boost. New international routes include flights to Da Nang in Vietnam and Muscat in Oman. With these additions, the airport strengthens its role as a global gateway, offering travelers direct access to exciting new destinations. Passengers flying internationally can also benefit from increased frequencies on popular routes to London’s Gatwick Airport, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok.

Increased Flight Frequency on Popular Routes

Responding to the needs of frequent travelers, SVPIA’s winter schedule offers more frequent flights to key domestic cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Mumbai, and Pune. These frequency increases are aimed at reducing wait times and offering flexibility, which is especially beneficial for business travelers and those visiting family in these major metropolitan areas.

Enhanced Airport Experience with Infrastructure Upgrades

To accommodate the expected rise in daily flights to 300 from an average of 269, SVPIA has made significant improvements to its infrastructure. Terminal 1 now boasts Digi Yatra-enabled entry gates, allowing for faster and more seamless entry. There are also additional self-baggage drop counters to streamline the check-in process, especially beneficial during peak travel seasons. Moreover, the airport has partnered with the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) to offer AC Volvo buses connecting SVPIA with nearby cities Rajkot and Vadodara, making it easier for travelers from surrounding regions to access the airport.

Airline-Specific Enhancements

New International Flight Opportunities

International travel options are expanding as well. VietJet’s new non-stop flights to Da Nang provide direct access to Vietnam’s coastal beauty. Additionally, Jazeera Airways resumes its flights to Kuwait, and SpiceJet launches new flights to Muscat. These options make it easier than ever for travelers to explore global destinations from SVPIA.

Encouraging Tourism and Business Travel

With these new and expanded flight routes, SVPIA caters to both leisure and business travelers, offering them a range of choices to suit their travel needs. The enhanced schedule supports Ahmedabad as a hub for domestic and international tourism and business activities, just in time for the holiday season and the arrival of a new year.

SVPIA’s Growing Network

As SVPIA grows, it now connects 48 domestic and 17 international destinations with 7 domestic and 20 international airlines. This increase not only adds convenience for travelers but also supports the city’s growth as a thriving center for trade, tourism, and culture.
