After a dozen films have been released in theatres and on Disney+ in Phase 4 alone, Marvel Studios has formally taken over San Diego Comic-Con for the first time in three years. It is now time to consider what the MCU has in store for the following several years following the Infinity Saga.
Fans have currently seen every project that Marvel Studios has announced since their final Comic-Con attendance in 2019, which concluded with Thor: Love and Thunder. There are still over a dozen new shows and movies that have been announced since that time, raising concerns about what else may be in store.
One of the largest of these is when Phase 4 will ever end, as there were no indications as to when the MCU’s upcoming film schedule will end. It has now been established when Phase 4 concludes, when Phase 5 commences, and how many entries will follow as part of a massive slate of announcements made at Comic-Con.
12 New Entries for MCU Phase 5 Are Confirmed.
A dozen films will be released in Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to studio president Kevin Feige, who announced this during Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.

Phase 5 of Thunderbolts: Blowing Open the Multiversal Doors on July 26, 2024
After missing Comic-Con for three years, Marvel Studios has finally opened the San Diego arena’s doors.
Beginning with the exhilarating Multiversal ride in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, nine of the projects confirmed for Phase 5 had already been made public through earlier events and news releases. It seems that the MCU is not holding back for the foreseeable future, switching between cosmic outer space (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) and more dramatic ground-level combat (Echo and Ironheart).
Even though it is disappointing that movies like Fantastic Four won’t be released until Phase 6, there are still plenty of intriguing stories to be told, especially in light of what was just disclosed at Comic-Con.
With Daredevil: Reborn Again, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will finally let the Man Without Fear fully develop under the protection of the Marvel Studios brand. Marvel isn’t slowing down at all, as seen by the upcoming Sam Wilson solo film starring Anthony Mackie and the long-awaited Thunderbolts team-up in the MCU.
All of this will occur in the middle of the recently confirmed Multiverse Saga, the exciting new slate of MCU projects that will carry on the Infinity Saga’s storyline that began in 2008. Only space and time will now be able to reveal what new players enter the fray.
With the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on February 17, 2023, Phase 5 of the MCU will formally commence.
