On Wednesday, ‘Lust Stories 2’ released its trailer. It has a strong dose of lust that is blended with humor and eccentricity.
The short two-minute trailer opens with a quote from Neena Gupta’s character that reads, “There’s a volcano like Mount Fuji inside the body. Once it explodes, it is content.
It stars Amruta Shubhash, Angad Bedi, Kajol, Kumud Mishra, Mrunal Thakur, Neena Gupta, Tamannaah Bhatia, Tillotama Shome, and Vijay Varma and combines four distinct stories from four different filmmakers (Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Konkona Sen Sharma, R. Balki, and Sujoy Ghosh).
The collection is centered on the idea of lust in both urban and rural India, showcasing its various manifestations. Despite the fact that the trailer is full of amusing moments, Neena Gupta’s portrayal of a cool daadi steals the prize.
R. Balki stated this when discussing the movie: “Lust is natural and crucial in a relationship. Everyone needs to realize this. I wanted to write a lust story that an entire family could enjoy. Why, in a world where families are formed by both love and lust, should a lust story always make for thrilling solitary viewing and be unsettling for family viewing? This straightforward, humorous tale has been brought to life in the most endearing way possible by Neena Gupta, Mrunal, and Angad.
Konkona Sen Sharma, an actress, and filmmaker, thinks it’s thrilling to see a woman reclaim her freedom and take charge of her life.
I specifically wanted to highlight this in my anthology for Lust Stories 2. When I was asked to take on this project, I was incredibly happy and eager. Like many others, I find the subject of lust to be taboo, so I wanted to deviate from the standard. Pooja Tolani, my fantastic co-writer, made this possible. Amruta and Tillotama were the perfect cast members since they worked so well together.
Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Konkona’s fellow director, said: “Working with actresses like Kajol and Kumud Mishra to provide this nuanced and edgy picture of lust to the spectators was certainly a fantastic experience. The hunger for power and ambition is one of the many hues of passion that I portray in this movie.
There are other scenes in the trailer that seem to be both funny and tantalizing.
“Tamannah and Vijay brought the film to life just as I had imagined it,” said director Sujoy Ghosh. “I am hoping audiences will enjoy seeing their chemistry on screen.”
The movie, which was created by Ashi Dua and Ronnie Screwvala, will debut on Netflix on June 29, 2023.
