Vijay 69, an eccentric, slice-of-life movie for OTT starring Anupam Kher, is the third project the company will be releasing under the YRF Entertainment label.

Over the years, Yash Raj Films has consistently produced some of the top films. The production company has made it plain that it wants to create some of the most disruptive and clutter-breaking digital entertainment. Vijay 69, an eccentric, slice-of-life movie for OTT starring Anupam Kher, is the third project the company will be releasing under the YRF Entertainment label. The movie’s first trailer has been out, and we bet it will make you want to see it.

The first look at Vijay 69

In Vijay 69, Anupam will portray a sexagenarian man who decides to take part in a triathlon competition at the age of 69. Akshay Roy, who previously worked with YRF on the film Meri Pyaari Bindu, will be in charge of directing it. He has also served as an Assistant Director on well-regarded films like Deepa Mehta’s Water, Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par, and Mira Nair’s The Namesake. Maneesh Sharma, a native of YRF who has produced Dum Laga Ke Haisha & Sui Dhaaga: Made In India and directed Band Baaja Baarat, is producing Vijay 69. He is currently directing Tiger 3, the upcoming film from YRF Spy Universe, which stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Other programs on YRF

Back in May, YRF Entertainment unveiled Mandala Murders, a grimy crime drama that will be its second OTT show. Vaani Kapoor will play the key role in the suspenseful entertainment, which was written and directed by Gopi Puthran of Mardaani 2 fame. Vaibhav Raj Gupta will also appear. After his outstanding performance in Gullak, he has been given his first main role! The series will be co-directed by Manan Rawat, who has previously served as an Associate Director on numerous YRF films.

The Railway Men, a highly anticipated OTT release based on the tragic 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy, is also included on YRF’s impressive slate. The principal characters of this series, R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu, and Babil Khan pay respect to the courageous railway workers who rescued a great number of lives on this tragic night of destruction and misery.
