Apple’s forthcoming smartphone, the iPhone 14 Pro, is expected to have a larger hole-punch than previously imagined.

According to AppleInsider, a rumored new schematic of the iPhone 14 Pro shows that the hole-punch replacement for the notch may be significantly larger than previously anticipated for the iPhone 14 series.

According to rumors, Apple will ditch the controversial and widely copied notch in favor of hole-punch and pill-shape cutouts at the top of the screen on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

While the design is thought to limit the amount of incursion into the display, a leak suggests it may not be as effective as planned, according to the study.

The display of an iPhone 14 model is shown with the hole punch and pill pattern at the top of the display in an image provided to Weibo and later confirmed as an accurate leak by leaker Jon Prosser.

The image was layered on top of the render for the supposed display by Prosser, and the two don’t exactly match up.

While renders show both display gaps as being quite narrow and modest, the image suggests that the elements are almost twice as large as previously thought.

If genuine, the double-hole design might use a significant amount of display real estate, though not as much as the conventional notch form, according to the study.

The larger size may make it more obvious to users, though it’s unclear whether this will deter upgraders if Apple goes forward with it.

It’s uncertain whether non-Pro iPhone 14 models will get the dual-hole design, as current speculations suggest that only the Pro versions would get it.

Other speculations claim that the back camera bulge will be removed, as well as a camera sensor upgrade from 12MP to 48MP.
