Ravindra Jadeja, who doesn’t always receive recognition for his contributions on the pitch, is the ideal illustration of an all-around player. Jadeja, an essential player for India in all three formats of the game, helped his team make significant gains against Sri Lanka on Tuesday in the Asia Cup Super 4. Jadeja surpassed Irfan Pathan to take the most ODI wickets for India in the Asia Cup thanks to his two wickets in the game.

On Tuesday at the R Premadasa Stadium, Jadeja achieved the milestone during the Super Four stage match against Sri Lanka. In the game, he had two wickets while giving up 33 runs. Irfan Pathan’s previous record of 22 wickets in 12 innings was surpassed by the Indian left-arm spinner, who has 24 wickets in 18 innings.

Kuldeep Yadav, who has taken 19 wickets in nine innings, is also in the running.

In the Asia Cup, Jadeja has taken the fifth-most wickets overall. With 30 kills in 24 innings, Muthiah Muralidaran is currently atop the list.

With one game remaining, India’s bowling assault ended Sri Lanka’s trend of 13 consecutive victories in one-day internationals and guaranteed their place in the 2023 Asia Cup championship game.

a meager objective on Tuesday at the R Premadasa Stadium.

Both sides’ spinners dominated the match, but pacers also contributed to India’s 41-run triumph against the co-hosts.

Earlier in the match, Sri Lanka defeated Men in Blue for 213 thanks to belligerent bowlers Dunith Wellalage and Charith Asalanka who tore through India’s top order.

Wellalage, a young player, accomplished a spectacular feat when he secured his first 5-wicket haul, single-handedly shattering a tough Indian batting order and taking the wickets of star players like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya.
