In honour of India’s 79th Independence Day, the Honourable President of India awarded Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), South Western Air Command (SWAC), the prestigious Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal for his outstanding leadership and SWAC’s exceptional contribution to the successful completion of Operation Sindoor.
In the Indian Air Force, Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor is a highly esteemed officer. Prior to becoming the AOC-in-C of SWAC, he assumed leadership as the head of the Training Command. With more than 3,400 hours of flight time, he has been a pilot for a long time. Other significant medals that he possesses are the Vayu Sena Medal, the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal. His varied skill set is demonstrated by the numerous important positions he has held throughout his career, such as squadron commander and defence attaché abroad. He is an excellent leader because of his background and commitment.
