TTF Ahmedabad 2026 Sees Trade Visitors Rise by 10% This Year
TTF Ahmedabad 2026 ends with 10% rise in trade visitors as Gujarat travel demand stays strong
The three-day Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) Ahmedabad 2026 ended at the Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre on Saturday, with organisers reporting a 10% rise in trade visitors compared with the previous edition.
The result comes at a useful time for India’s travel industry. The festive period, followed by the winter holiday season, is approaching, and travel companies are already preparing packages and deals for the months ahead.
Fairfest Media, which organises TTF, said more than 16,500 people attended the event over three days. More than 900 exhibitors from 27 Indian states and Union Territories, as well as 10 countries, took part. The show brought together tourism departments, hotels, travel companies, airlines, attractions, destination management companies and travel technology firms.
The fair was opened by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Bhai Patel. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj and Goa Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte were among the other senior political figures present. Kuldeep Arya, IAS, Secretary, Tourism, Government of Gujarat, also attended.
Dr Vipin Garg, IAS, Commissioner of Tourism and Managing Director of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, and Y. S. Chaudhari, IAS, Joint Managing Director of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, were among the tourism officials at the event.
Gujarat’s travel market draws attention
The size of the Ahmedabad show reflects the importance of Gujarat to India’s travel business. TTF’s own material describes Ahmedabad as a major source market for domestic and international travel, supported by the state’s economy and the city’s air links. Its 2026 brochure listed 13.43 million airport passengers in FY2024-25, a 14.8% year-on-year rise, along with links to 48 domestic and 16 international destinations.
The wider Indian market is also expanding. Data from the Ministry of Tourism shows 4.287 billion domestic tourist visits in 2025, up 45.55% from the previous year. Indian nationals made 32.83 million overseas departures during the year, a 6.3% increase
Gujarat has also seen strong domestic tourism. Ministry of Tourism data reported by the Times of India showed that the state’s top 10 destinations received 12.4 crore domestic tourist visits in 2025, compared with 9.1 crore in 2024. Pilgrimage destinations such as Somnath, Dwarka, Ambaji and Dakor accounted for a large share of the visits
Ahmedabad’s importance is also visible in outbound travel. A 2025 India Outbound Travel Index by TravClan, based on around 2.47 lakh international passengers and booking value of more than Rs 500 crore, identified Ahmedabad as one of the country’s key growth markets outside the major metros.
These figures help explain why travel companies and tourism boards continue to use Ahmedabad as a meeting point for selling destinations to western Indian buyers.
International and domestic destinations under one roof
Israel was the Feature Country at TTF Ahmedabad 2026. International participation also came from Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the UAE, Nepal, the United States, China, Thailand and Bhutan.
Gujarat Tourism was the Host State. Goa, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Rajasthan, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka took part as Partner States.
West Bengal, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Delhi and Meghalaya were listed as Feature States.
The private sector included Holiday Mechanic, The Travel Nexus, Travelplug, Evoke Experiences, Radisson Hotel Group, Sayaji Hotels, Sarovar Hotels, ZANA Luxury Escapes, Maitri Visa & Travel Services, Treat Hotels & Resorts, Booking Junction, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Shankus Waterpark & Resort.
Travel associations including OTOAI, TAAFI, ADTOI, ETAA, IATO, GTC, IATTE, ABTO, TOAI, TIA, NIMA, TAG, TOSG, SATA, GTAA, TAHAT, PTAHA, SGTCA, TAAS, ATAA, RAAG, VTAA, TAAPI, TOAK, TAAB, JTAA and Jain Travel Agents Association also supported the event.
The scale was broadly in line with the previous Ahmedabad edition. TTF’s 2025 post-show report recorded more than 900 exhibitors and 15,000 B2B visitors, with participation from more than 25 Indian states and representation from 30 countries.
Business meetings were the main focus
TTF Ahmedabad is designed primarily as a trade event rather than a public tourism fair. Travel agents, tour operators and other industry buyers use the gathering to meet destinations and suppliers before major holiday periods.
That timing matters in Gujarat, where demand for domestic holidays, international trips, religious travel and premium leisure products has grown. The official TTF schedule placed the Ahmedabad event on August 6-8, ahead of the Diwali and winter travel periods.
Sanjiv Agarwal, Chairman and CEO of Fairfest Media Limited, linked the rise in trade participation to expectations for the coming travel season.
“Presence of four senior ministers from three states at TTF Ahmedabad signifies the importance of travel and tourism in India’s economy. The industry now sees its opportunity, especially in the domestic market, and in Gujarat in particular. With trade visitors up 10%, these were three days of serious business, not footfall — and the buying appetite we saw on the floor points to a very strong festive and winter season ahead. Our thanks to the exhibitors, tourism boards, buyers and partners who made it happen.”
The event ended with an awards ceremony for exhibitors and participants in categories covering presentation, innovation and visitor engagement.
For Gujarat’s travel trade, the more useful number may be the reported rise in trade visitors rather than the total attendance. A larger professional audience gives travel companies more potential buyers to meet before bookings for the festive and winter months begin in earnest.
TTF itself has been running since 1989 and now covers eight major Indian travel markets. Fairfest Media says its wider TTF network attracts more than 4,000 exhibitors from over 100 countries and more than 60,000 trade visitors.
The Ahmedabad edition has therefore become an important annual meeting point for Gujarat’s travel agents and suppliers. The 2026 figures suggest that businesses are continuing to spend time and money preparing for stronger travel demand, with domestic holidays and overseas trips both competing for customers in the months ahead.
