Virat Kohli and his form _Newz Daddy

It has been a norm that if a top-order batsman scores a century then he is in form or else he is out of form and not performing well.

We all know that it has been a good considerable time since Virat Kohli has scored a century.  In the past years, people used to call him a run-making machine when he was scoring 50s and 100s at will.

But for a long time, he is due for scoring a century.  This is what the talk all around in the cricketing fraternity that Virat is not playing well and when he will score a century.

Is this a correct way to measure the player’s ability?

Recently Rahul Dravid had said in an interview that “we do not expect Virat to score 100s every time, we want him to be a match-winner.  He should play match-winning innings”.

This should be the correct way of measuring the player, his ability, and his form.

The players are playing to win matches for the team and not for creating personal records.  Winning the team is far greater than an individual’s records

The stature of Virat is huge and when he is there on the pitch, the opposite team will always be worried.  Even though Virta is not scoring runs as he used to be.  The opposition captain will always be tense as long as Virat is on the pitch with the bat in his hand.

The presence of Virat on the pitch gives great psychological pressure on the opposite team. The team always remains anxious as to when and how he will get out. The bowlers forget their line and length when he starts scoring runs.

This is the charisma of a player of the stature of Virat.

It is wisely said by the legend, Sunil Gavaskar that “The form is temporary, the class is permanent.”

The out-of-form phase of Virat is temporary, the class in him is permanent.  The day his form comes back, he will roar like a lion.

Let’s allow the player to bring his class back in the form of runs and let him be Virat as he is.  Let’s pray that our Virat scores big match-winning innings and brings India glory by winning 3-1 against England.

The one-off test match is starting tomorrow and we hope all the best to Virat and the Indian team.
