WhatsApp has been observed testing, developing, and rolling out new features on smartphones and Windows devices. WhatsApp for Android is reportedly beta testing the option to restore group chats if the messaging app has unintentionally disabled them, according to a source. Another report claims that the instant messaging service is now testing a redesigned media picker for its mobile version. A third report claims that WhatsApp is now beta testing new animations for its desktop client.

Meta’s messaging program, according to WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp features tracker, restricts certain group talks if it believes they are in violation of the service’s Terms of Service. WhatsApp is unable to view the content of the group due to end-to-end encryption. When it receives multiple reports from different individuals, however, it removes groups. If the name or description of a group is suspicious, the instant messaging program may block it.

Once a group chat has been disabled, users will be unable to send messages or ask others to join. The group invite link is also disabled in such cases, according to a screenshot included in the report. WhatsApp can reactivate the group invite link and re-enable the group if it was mistakenly disabled. It’s included in the WhatsApp for Android beta 2.22.4.5 release.

WhatsApp is already developing a new media picker menu internally, according to another report from WABetaInfo. In the new navigation, there will be two tabs: Recent and Gallery. This update will only appear when users share media – photographs, GIFs, and videos – via the in-app camera. The capability is likely to be deployed in the near future, as it is still being tested.

According to another rumor from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is already working on a new media picker menu internally. There will be two tabs in the new navigation: Recent and Gallery. This update will only appear when users share media using the in-app camera, such as photos, GIFs, and videos. Because the capability is currently being tested, it is expected to be deployed soon.
