Young Stars Rise in TPL Race to Gold Masters 2025
Newz Daddy Sports Updates
Tennis in India is getting a big boost! The Tennis Premier League (TPL), powered by Clear Premium Water, has announced the return of the ‘TPL Race to Gold Masters Tournament 2025’. This exciting event is designed to find the best young tennis players across India through the TPL app. The tournament will take place in three different cities across India.
The Tennis Premier League was founded in 2018 by Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain. The “Race to Gold” initiative by TPL has previously offered scholarships to young players. The format is meant to connect grassroots (young, local) talent with higher-level competition.
Tournament Schedule
North Zone (Delhi): November 15–16, 2025, at DLTA Stadium
Gujarat Zone (Ahmedabad): November 22–23, 2025, at Gujarat University Tennis Stadium
Maharashtra Zone (Mumbai): November 29–30, 2025, at MSLTA Stadium
TPL’s 7th season is scheduled from December 9–14, 2025, in Ahmedabad, which shows the league expanding beyond its usual base. The TPL app hosts tournaments across India and supports ranking and youth development. Hosting in multiple zones means players from different parts of India can participate locally and then move up.
Each event will be held with the help of the state tennis associations, Gujarat State Tennis Association (GSTA), Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA), Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA), and Haryana Tennis Association (HTA). TPL deepened its association with GSTA to support young players in Gujarat. Association with official bodies like state associations gives legitimacy and structure to the tournament.
The TPL Race to Gold Masters gives rising tennis players a special platform to show their skills. They will play in the exciting and fast 25-point format, which makes matches fun to watch. Players will also get a chance to gain national recognition.
The 25-point format is confirmed: TPL uses this unique format to make matches faster and more exciting. Reports say that in past “Race to Gold” events, children as young as under-10 or under-12 have competed and shown strong matches. The format helps scouts, coaches and fans to identify talent early, making it easier for young players to move up.
The top players from each zone in the following groups will win scholarships worth ₹75,000:
Under-10 Boys & Girls
Under-12 Boys & Girls
Under-14 Boys & Girls
The winners will be honoured live on TV during the 7th season of the Tennis Premier League, to be held in Ahmedabad from December 9–14, 2025. This will be one of the biggest tennis celebrations in India.
In previous editions, winners of “Race to Gold” got scholarships of that size and were felicitated on digital platforms. The fact that winners will appear live on TV gives them visibility, which is rare at grassroots levels. Young players getting such scholarships means the tournament isn’t just about winning trophies but also about supporting future careers.
The champions will also get a chance to meet and interact with Indian tennis legends Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna, and even play with top TPL players such as Luciano Darderi, Arthur Rinderknech, Corentin Moutet, Alexander Muller, and Shrivalli Bhamidipati. Partnerships with senior players and international stars help raise the profile of the league and inspire young players. By connecting rising talent with big names, TPL gives a pathway for learning and exposure.
Kunal Thakur, Co-founder of Tennis Premier League, said: “Race to Gold Masters is one of our proudest projects. It connects grassroots tennis with the professional circuit. This helps young players get recognition and grow. The response on the TPL app has been amazing, and this tournament gives players a real path to success.”
Mrunal Jain, Co-founder of TPL, added: “Our goal has always been to make tennis more popular and accessible across India. TPL Masters gives talented players from every corner of the country a chance to play on TV against professionals and earn fame.”Leander Paes, Indian tennis legend and key supporter of this initiative, said:
“The Race to Gold Masters is a wonderful step for Indian tennis. It gives young players structure, recognition, and scholarships. It helps them build confidence and motivates the next generation of champions.” The co-founders have spoken publicly about TPL’s mission to expand tennis in India, use mobile and digital platforms, and connect young players with opportunities. This kind of public endorsement from legends like Leander Paes adds credibility and helps attract sponsors and media.
The TPL Race to Gold Masters 2025 is a national tennis event giving young Indian players a golden chance to shine, learn from legends, and earn recognition, all while taking Indian tennis to the next level. Indeed, Indian tennis has been looking for stronger pathways for young talent. TPL’s model seems to respond to that need. As season 7 of TPL moves to Ahmedabad (for the first time outside Maharashtra), we can see a trend of expanding reach, new venues, and broader grassroots focus.
