EVACUATION OF 12 CREW FROM SINKING DHOW

12 crew members are saved by the Indian Coast Guard from a sinking ship off the coast of Vadinar.
On Sunday, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) revealed that on Saturday, it had saved 12 crew members from a Motorized Supply Vessel (MSV) that was sinking in the Arabian Sea. The crew has been returned to its owner in Vadinar, Gujarat, safe and well.
As the MSV finally sank, all 12 members of the crew were taken aboard MT Searanger.
“On Saturday around 11:00 am, ICG Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), Mumbai got a distress call about uncontrollable flooding onboard Indian MSV Nigahen Karam with 12 crew members, all of them were citizens of India. The ship was travelling to Djibouti. The nearby vessels were all made aware by the rapid response of MRCC Mumbai. In order to offer the vessel with urgent assistance, the Motor Tanker (MT) Searanger operating nearby was diverted by the MRCC, Mumbai in collaboration with the MRSC (Maritime Rescue Sub Centre), Porbandar, according to an ICG release.
Additionally, the nearby Indian Coast Guard ship Sarthak was diverted, while the ICG fast interceptor class ship C-152 proceeded out of Vadinar right away. According to reports, the MSV is substantially flooded and sinking in its current location. As the MSV finally sank, all 12 members of the crew were taken aboard MT Searanger.
The crew was then transported to Vadinar by the ICG Ship after being transferred off the MT Searanger. The crew were turned over to the owner following a preliminary medical examination of the crew at the Indian Coast Guard Station Vadinar, the statement continued.
