America 250: The Secrets Placed In The Capsule

America’s 250th Independence Anniversary Massive Events Planned in Boston and D.C.

America gave the world its constitution, the light bulb, the aeroplane, the internet, and different vaccines. It also has the historic pride of putting the first human on the moon. On 4th July, America will celebrate its 250th Independence Day with great joy. There will be millions of fireworks, various parades, drone light shows, and Ferris wheels.

This 250th independence celebration will happen across the whole country at the same time with great excitement. A ball drop, just like the one in Times Square, will happen eight times across America’s eight time zones. In every time zone, the ball will drop at midnight on the night of 3rd and 4th July. A time capsule will be buried under Independence Hall. It will be opened 250 years later, in the year 2276, during the 500th independence celebration. This capsule will contain an item from every state, an Olympic gold medal, and a copy of the constitution signed by the Supreme Court judges.

For this 250th celebration, the Trump administration has planned the “greatest and biggest celebration of fireworks ever”. Through Freedom-250, 860,000 fireworks will be launched into the sky. America’s sky will shine brightly with the light of fireworks and greatness! This grand fireworks show will break the world record held by the Philippines. The “Great American State Fair” will be held at the National Mall for 16 days. People will see a 110-foot-tall Ferris wheel, a rodeo, butter sculptures, a giant pumpkin, and more.

America, with slogans like America 250, Freedom 250, and Great America, is the engine of global growth. It is the world’s first modern republic. Its democratic constitution means a government chosen by the people. It was presented in 1789 with the words “We the People”.

This is the same America where scientist Thomas Edison made the electric light bulb in 1879, lighting up the world’s nights! America gave the world the “aeroplane” for the first time in 1903. In 1903, the Wright brothers flew for the first time in ‘Kitty Hawk’ for 12 seconds, reaching a height of 120 feet, and today the whole world can fly!

America visited the moon for the very first time in 1969. Astronaut Neil Armstrong was sent to the moon in the ‘Apollo’ spacecraft and walked on its surface. This was the biggest step for mankind.

After this, America gave the world the wonderful gift of the “internet”. In 1969, the first message “LO” was sent from UCLA to Stanford. Today, the most cars are seen driving on America’s roads, and the credit goes to Henry Ford. In 1913, he introduced the Model-T and fulfilled the middle-class dream of owning a car.

Dr Jonas Salk made a successful polio vaccine in 1955, saving the legs of millions of children around the world. In 1978, America developed the “GPS” system. Today, everyone uses this satellite-based navigation system on their mobile phones. In 1927, the first talking feature film, “The Jazz Singer”, was released.

In addition, inventions like the telephone by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876, the air conditioner in 1902, the supermarket in 1930, the credit card in 1950, the laser in 1960, and the microprocessor in 1971 made America great and made human life easy.

The Best

Out of the top 10 universities in the world, 7 are in America. More than 1 million students from around the world study in universities like Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and Caltech.

There has been huge growth in space research. Along with NASA, SpaceX is the most active. In entertainment, Hollywood, Disney, Netflix, NBA, NFL, and the Super Bowl are enjoyed by the most people worldwide.

In technology, America is the hub for modern systems like the internet, GPS, Google Search, iPhone, AI, and Tesla. Not only that, but America is also ahead in charity and donation! Bill Gates and Warren Buffett have donated billions of dollars to charity organisations.

The Identity

America has a unique identity in the world. It is known as the “land where dreams come true”. Here, your hard work and passion for your job can take you to the top of success. Great examples include Steve Jobs going from a garage to Apple, Oprah going from poverty to becoming a billionaire, and Elon Musk’s journey from South Africa to Tesla and SpaceX.

The second identity is as an “Innovation Nation”. Because of this, the world’s smartest people are drawn here. For example, America has won more than 50% of the world’s Nobel Prizes. America is the birthplace of Silicon Valley, Google, Apple, Meta, Nvidia, and ChatGPT. Around 700 billion dollars are invested every year in research and development.

The third reason is that it is a world superpower. It is a superpower because it has the world’s largest economy with a 28 trillion-dollar GDP. The dollar is the most accepted currency globally. It has 11 aircraft carriers, over 750 military bases, leads NATO, and hosts the headquarters of the world’s most important organisations. Whenever anything happens in the world, everyone looks to see America’s reaction first.

Additionally, America is a “free country”. There is freedom of speech, religion, and the press. People have the right to self-defence. America is a melting pot, a country with unity in diversity. People from more than 190 countries live here. The Statue of Liberty says, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” That is why, even after 250 years, millions of people from around the world want to come to America, grow here, and chant “USA!, USA!”.

The History

Exactly 250 years ago, on 4th July 1776, 13 colonies declared independence from Britain, and 56 leaders signed it. Since then, 4th July has been celebrated as “Independence Day”. Thomas Jefferson prepared this document, which is known as the “Declaration of Independence”.

Although the fight for independence started in 1775, true freedom was gained in 1783 with the “Treaty of Paris”. However, the official notice of independence was accepted on 4th July 1776. Therefore, 4th July 1776 is celebrated as “Independence Day”.

In the 1760s and 1770s, Britain ruled the 13 American colonies. The slogan was “Taxation without Representation”, meaning Britain took taxes but did not listen to them in parliament. To protest the tax on tea, the “Boston Tea Party” threw crates of tea into the sea in 1773. Because of this, Boston is considered the first city of independence.

The Celebrations

America’s independence is being celebrated by two large organisations: America-250 and Freedom-250. America-250 is an official, non-partisan organisation of Congress that has been working since 2016. Freedom-250 is a White House Task Force working since 2025, and its chairman is President Trump.

The biggest events for this occasion will take place in five cities. First, let us look at Washington, D.C., where a grand celebration will happen. Here, a three-hour parade will take place at the National Mall. It will feature floats from all 50 states and a military salute. There will be a live reading of the Declaration of Independence at the National Archives. A new museum, the “National Geographic Museum of Exploration”, will open. People can even wear a judge’s robe and take part in a mock trial in a courtroom!

Philadelphia is known as the birthplace of independence. This is a highly historic place. Here, you can see the Museum of the American Revolution and a copy of the original Constitution at the National Constitution Centre. People can watch the FIFA World Cup and the Baseball All-Star games. There will be a six-hour “One Philly Unity Concert” and the “Welcome America Festival”.

New York City will have the biggest fireworks. In the International Parade of Sail, 50 large ships will be seen on the Hudson River near the Statue of Liberty. The ball drop will also be seen at Times Square.

Boston is called the first city of independence. The Boston Harborfest and free concerts can be enjoyed at the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park.

In Atlanta, more than 60,000 people will join the AJC Peachtree Road Race, which is the world’s largest 10 km run. Fireworks will be set off at Centennial Olympic Park, and there will be a 250-drone light show.

In addition, places like Pittsburgh, Tampa, Chattanooga, and Hawaii will also hold grand fireworks displays, drone light shows, hot air balloon shows, and more.

In this way, the whole of America will celebrate this historic 250th Independence Day.
