BCCI vs. PCB: On Sunday, the Pakistan Cricket Board refuted all media reports asserting that in order to play in Pakistan, all members of the Asian Cricket Council will now need to receive “GOVERNMENT CLEARANCE.”

According to reports, the PCB is furious about the Asia Cup fuming rights and has reacted angrily to the BCCI’s position in a statement. In September 2023, Pakistan is scheduled to host the Asia Cup.

The Asia Cup hosting rights continue to be a source of dispute. Although the BCCI has made it plain that it would not send a team to Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board still holds the rights to organise the competition. The situation has been delayed until March, according to the most recent media reports.

All ACC members must get permission to play in Pakistan from their respective governments, according to a report on one of the top sports websites. However, the PCB claimed that “no such things” were brought up in the meeting in a sharply worded letter to the BCCI.

The PCB further stated that no member had expressed a desire to obtain any type of official authorization in order to play in Pakistan.

Regarding the Asian members, Bangladesh made a tour of Pakistan in 2020, while Sri Lanka visited Pakistan in 2017 and 2019. Members of the ICC Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh have confirmed their trips to Pakistan as part of the FTP 2023–2027.

Due to the political difficulties existent between the two Asian neighbours, India has shown reluctance to visit Pakistan. The UAE may host the 2023 Asia Cup instead of Pakistan, according to rumours circulating online. Najam Sethi, president of the PCB, has stated categorically that the nation will not forgo hosting the Asia Cup or the Champions Trophy in 2025.
