In the inspiring presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Vishva Samvad Kendra, Gujarat, organised a grand event called “Saptarang Creators Fest–2026” at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, Ahmedabad. On this occasion, content creators who are doing creative work on different social media platforms were honoured with awards. Today, such events are becoming more common as the creator economy grows fast in India. Reports show that the country has millions of active creators, and this number is rising every year, showing how digital work is now part of daily life.

At the event, the Chief Minister said that in today’s digital age, content creators play an important role in society. Through their creativity, they share new ideas and positive messages with people. India now has about 491 million social media users, and people spend around 2 hours and 28 minutes daily on these platforms. This means creators have a strong voice and a wide reach. Social media is closely linked with sports, culture, and daily life, and it helps people connect with the world in real time.

Platforms like YouTube and Instagram allow creative work to reach a global audience. In fact, short videos and reels have changed how people watch content. Many viewers now prefer quick and simple videos instead of long programmes. Studies show that young people, especially Gen Z, are leading this change, and many of them also create content themselves. The Chief Minister requested creators to keep society’s welfare and a “nation first” approach in their work, which is important as their influence keeps growing.

The Chief Minister added that content creators today are like a “one-man army”. Their creative work encourages new thinking. This idea matches global trends, where even small creators with fewer followers can create a strong impact. In India, micro and nano creators are shaping trends because people trust them more. Their close connection with viewers helps them spread ideas quickly and clearly.

He also said that creators have the power to take local language and culture to the global level. This is already happening in India. Regional language content is growing fast, and many creators are using their mother tongue to reach people. Reports show that vernacular content is helping creators connect better and grow faster. Campaigns like “Vocal for Local” can also gain strength through such content, as creators promote local products, stories, and traditions.

The Chief Minister honoured several well-known creators, including Hiten Kumar, Prafull Ketkar, Prafull Garg, Meenakshi Sherawat, Nikhil Chandwani, Kushal Mistry, Vishal Parekh, Mahi Patel, Kuldeep Singh Clair, Shivani Shukla, RJ Harshil, Mangesh Prajapati and Jay Gajera. Star and rising content creators were also given awards to encourage their work. Such recognition helps creators stay motivated and improve their quality.

Across India, the creator economy is not only growing in numbers but also in value. It is expected to reach thousands of crores in the coming years, with strong growth driven by brands and digital platforms. Creators are now working with companies, promoting products, and even starting their own businesses. This shows that content creation is becoming a serious career option.

At the event, several important guests were present, including Sunil Ambekar from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Dr. Bharatbhai Patel, Dr. Sunil Borisa, and Tejas Patel, along with many leading personalities and content creators. Their presence shows how different sectors are now connected through digital media and communication.

Today, content creation is not just a hobby. It is a powerful tool for communication, education, and social change. Creators now influence large spending decisions and public opinion. Reports say that they already impact hundreds of billions of dollars in consumer spending, and this number is expected to grow further. At the same time, only a small number of creators earn a steady income, which shows there is still a long way to go.
