Movie Review “Governor”
Friends, I had the pleasure of watching the premiere show of the new Bollywood movie Governor, so let’s begin the review.
Manoj Bajpayee is an actor who can make any web series or movie a success through his performance alone. Once again, he proves that with his new film, Governor.
Friends, this is a movie whose entire story revolves around S. Venkitaramanan, who served as the Governor in the 1990s. At that time, the country was going through a very difficult phase and was on the verge of bankruptcy. It was such a serious crisis that even a small mistake could have made the situation much worse. The entire film is based on this backdrop.
I am not someone who reveals the story and gives spoilers.
Governor is a movie based on true events. It follows a documentary-style approach, so you should not expect any typical Bollywood masala. There is no action, no romance, and no dance. Instead, it presents a serious yet engaging story.
The story needed to be told as a real-life drama, just as the events unfolded at that time. The way it has been portrayed on screen will definitely impress you.
But how is the movie made? I have always said that our country has countless stories, events, and subjects that can be turned into great films. However, that only happens when the director has a strong vision. The ability to transform written facts into powerful visuals and create a compelling film comes from the director’s vision.
Governor is exactly the kind of movie I am talking about. The direction and the way the story has been presented deserve appreciation. On the surface, it may seem like a simple story, but in reality, it is far from ordinary.
Preventing such a massive crisis from unfolding through the RBI Governor’s hard work, his thinking, and his ability to find solutions during difficult times is no small achievement. What I truly liked was the way this story has been told.
I must also say that Manoj Bajpayee is playing the role of a South Indian Governor in this film. But when you watch him on screen, you will not feel like you are watching Manoj Bajpayee at all. His South Indian accent, facial expressions, and body language are so convincing that you will feel as if you are watching the real Governor himself. You will believe that he is the very person who helped save the country during that difficult period. His performance is that powerful. At times, you will feel like saluting him and applauding while sitting in the theatre. His acting is brilliant, and the supporting cast has also delivered strong performances.
I have always been a great admirer of Manoj Bajpayee, and this film only strengthens that admiration.
However, I would still say that the visuals and the way the story is presented are the true soul of this movie. They keep you completely engaged throughout. You will not get distracted or lose focus for a moment. From the beginning to the end, the film keeps your attention firmly on the screen. That is the impact of the plot, the visuals, and Manoj Bajpayee’s performance.
In short, friends, this movie is worth your money.
Yes, it is a bit slow-paced. At times, it feels like the kind of film you would normally watch on an online streaming platform.
A few of the dialogues are quite good:
“सूरज सही वक्त का इंतजार नहीं करता, वो तो अपना काम करता ही रहता है, वक्त अपने आप बदल जाता है। “
“एक बाप काभी Quit यही करसक्त, he has to keep going. “
The Governor gives a message to society: “never quit”, “find the solutions in any situation, “be calm and patient, only then you will find the solution.”
If we talk about the rating, it gets four out of five stars from me. It is a total value-for-money movie. You can definitely go to the cinema and watch it once.
Newz Daddy’s Rating: 4*/5.
