Newz Daddy Political Updates

As part of the Seva Pakhwada, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) is organising a marathon called “Namo Yuva Run – For a Drug-Free India. Gujarat Minister Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma spoke about this in a press conference. Seva Pakhwada means a service fortnight. It is a campaign by the BJP that runs for about two weeks. It includes many public welfare and awareness programmes. Drug abuse among youth is a growing concern in India. The government has many programmes like Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to reduce drug use by young people.

According to a press note from the Karnavati city media team, the press conference took place today at Orient Club, Paldi. While speaking, Minister Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma said that on the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the BJP has started Seva Pakhwada all over the country. As part of this, BJYM Gujarat will organise Namo Yuva Run marathons in many cities of the state on Sunday, 21st September 2025. Seva Pakhwada runs from the PM’s birthday till October 2. It ends on the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.

Marathons and runs are being used in many states as part of Seva Pakhwada to involve youth and raise awareness of social issues like health, cleanliness and drug abuse. He said Prime Minister Modi is very concerned about the youth. He wants young people to stay away from drugs and not get misled. This marathon aims to spread awareness and encourage the youth to live free from drugs.

The National Centre for Drug Abuse Prevention is a scheme under the Government of India that works for awareness, counselling, treatment and rehabilitation. They say youth are especially vulnerable to substance abuse, and prevention is very important. In other programmes, there has been a focus on educating young people in schools, colleges, and youth groups about harm from drugs, as well as providing support when needed. This run is similar in its goal. The minister also shared details that the marathon in Ahmedabad will start from Vastrapur Lake at 6 am on 21st September, 2025 (Sunday). Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel will flag off the run. This whole program is managed by Karnavati BJYM.

Early morning starts (5-6 am) are usual in runs, so the weather is cooler and more suitable. Many runs in India begin early for this reason. Government or political leaders flag off runs to show support. Their presence often encourages more people to join and bring attention to the cause. More than 20,000 youth, athletes, and famous artists are expected to join. The run will be about 5 km long. People who want to take part must register online through a link. A large number of participants helps increase the visibility and impact of awareness messages. When many people run together, people see it and talk about it.

5 km is a moderate distance. It’s challenging but doable for many people. It makes it easier for more to join. Online registration has become common for such events. It helps organisers plan and manage the crowd, t-shirts, etc . At today’s press conference, the T-shirt of the “Namo Yuva Run” was also launched.T-shirts are often used to create identity among participants. Wearing the same T-shirt helps people feel part of the event and helps spread the message when they wear it elsewhere. Present at the event were city BJP President Shri Prerakbhai Shah, city BJYM President Shri Vinaybhai Desai, BJYM general secretaries, and the full team of city BJYM.
