Inspiring Event on ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ Held at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, Ahmedabad
A special programme about the “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam” was held at Gautam Hall, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU), Ahmedabad. The event was organised under the guidance of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) Ami Upadhyay. The main goal was to encourage women to take part in government and leadership. This matches the vision of “Vikasit Bharat 2047”. The event gave people a chance to share their thoughts and talk about gender equality in Parliament and state assemblies.
The programme started with the lighting of a lamp. After this, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the guests with awards. Dr Nisha Joshi, Director of the Student Development Department, gave a warm welcome to everyone.
In her speech, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ami Upadhyay, herself a nari, praised the hard work of the women staff at the university. She encouraged all the students to get ready to be leaders in the future.
Special guests included Manjulaben Padvi, the Principal of Mahila Gramseva Vidyapeeth, Nardipur, and retired Professor Dr Rajeshbhai Patel. Three talented students who won prizes at a national student parliament were also invited to speak. These students were Rajvi Kadiya, Drishti Kamliya, and Khevan Joshi. They had previously represented the university at the 4th National Women’s Student Parliament.
Their speeches showed how young women are becoming strong leaders:
- Rajvi Kadiya told women to be confident and take part in national and global matters.
- Drishti Kamliya spoke about how senior members, both men and women, should guide young female leaders.
- Khevan Joshi compared the role of women in the past to the present day and explained why the “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam” is so important.
More than 100 students, officers, and staff members attended the event. Mrs Neha Bhatt managed the programme smoothly. The event was a great success and inspired many students to work towards women’s empowerment and leadership.
