Held from 21st to 23rd March 2026 at the Gujarat University Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event created a bridge between eastern and western India through art, food, crafts and tourism.

Odisha is often known for its deep-rooted traditions and artistic strength. The State has a long history of temple architecture, classical dance and detailed handicrafts. Many experts in Indian culture often highlight Odisha as one of the few regions where ancient traditions are still practised in daily life. From the famous Jagannath culture of Puri to tribal customs in interior regions, Odisha shows a rare mix of history and living heritage.

The event was organised by the Department of Tourism along with multiple departments like Odia Language, Literature & Culture, Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts, ORMAS, ADISHA and Mission Shakti. Such collaborations are important because they bring together artisans, self-help groups and cultural experts under one platform. Across India, similar cultural festivals have helped small artisans gain national attention and improve their livelihoods.

Odisha Parab has already been held in cities like Bengaluru and Guwahati, where it received a strong public response. Cultural experts often say that travelling festivals like these help states promote tourism beyond traditional advertising.
