Rashtriya Raksha University Expands Footprint in Qatar

Newz Daddy Educational Updates

RRU looks at collaborating on research and academic projects with Qatari universities that have similar goals.
Gujarat’s Gandhinagar, June 19, 2025. In keeping with India’s Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, keeps expanding its international reach and scholarly collaborations. From June 11 to June 16, 2025, a high-level RRU delegation travelled to the State of Qatar.

Key institutions and stakeholders were engaged during the tour, including the Embassy of India in Doha and the Skill Development Centre (SDC), a company that works to improve employment and skill competency among the Indian diaspora by providing high-quality training and certification.

The Deputy Chief of Mission Skills Development Centre (SDC) in Doha, founded in 2002, is a renowned organisation committed to fostering talent and personality development via academic pursuits. It is headed by H.E. Vipul, the Indian Ambassador to Qatar, and Shri Sandeep Kumar. Along with hosting significant events like Swaralaya, which honours its heritage through exhibitions and performances, SDC continues to be a thriving hub for the Indian diaspora in Qatar to participate in holistic development. In order to upskill Indian people in Qatar and match their capabilities with both regional labour demands and international standards, SDC is essential.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between RRU and the Skill Development Centre (SDC) during the delegation’s visit, committing RRU to providing a range of activities in partnership with SDC. Through the provision of excellent, career-relevant training in subjects like private security, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, psychology, fitness management, and related sectors, this project aims to empower the Indian diaspora.

Important conversations centred on topics that both parties found interesting, including AI-based surveillance, cybersecurity, drone technology, stress and injury management, and counselling services for families with children with special needs.

Qatar’s Police College Academy
With a focus on cooperative projects in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Labs, the delegation also looked into possible partnerships with the Directorate of Security Systems and the Police College Academy. In keeping with its motto, “Global Education, Local Impact,” Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) keeps fortifying its ties with other countries in order to give access to top-notch training and support India’s knowledge-driven development under the Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.

RRU is unwavering in its dedication to promoting research, training, and teaching to build a safer and better-informed global society. Through consistent interactions with the Indian diaspora and all GCC nations, as well as strategic alliances with international organisations, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) hopes to promote academic excellence, bolster capacity-building programs, and make a significant contribution to India’s vision of becoming a knowledge-based nation.
