How Siraj And Krishna’s Bowling Decided The India-England Test Series.

India took the final four wickets on a brief but exciting Day 5 at The Oval, capping a thrilling victory that tied the series at two. India was hoping for a collapse, as it has happened throughout the series.  Each team has lost their tail too early in the nail-biting Indian England test series.

There were only 35 runs needed for England to win, and only 4 wickets needed by India to win. Both teams went into Day 5 with victory in their mind. Jamie Overton attempted to change the pace early on by hitting two boundaries to put India under pressure. Mohammed Siraj, however, responded spectacularly by dismissing Jamie Smith to provide India with a much-needed breakthrough.

After that, Siraj beautifully set up Jamie Overton, trapping him leg before wicket and turning the tide decisively in India’s favour. Prasidh Krishna soon entered the party by dismissing Josh Tongue with a fiery yorker that shook the stumps and put India within striking reach of a historic victory, and now India need only one wicket to win the match and level the series.

Despite a dislocated left shoulder, Chris Woakes bravely went out to bat, showing his love for the game and respect for his nation.  Atkinson hit a six, and the target was reduced to just 11 runs. Atkinson played two overs and did not allow injured Chris Woakes to face any ball.

Mohammed Siraj hit Gus Atkinson off stump to give India a remarkable victory by the slimmest of margins—just 6 runs—and tie the series 2-2.

Earlier in the Test, England took a narrow 23-run lead as both teams’ late collapses stopped them from scoring a significant total in the first innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s outstanding century and the important contributions of the lower order enabled India to set a difficult target of 374 for England to chase.

Joe Root and Harry Brook’s outstanding hundreds and a 195-run partnership between them gave great hope to chase down this huge total again.  However, India won an exciting match as England collapsed dramatically late on Day 4, losing their final seven wickets for just 66 runs.

The series shifted to Edgbaston, where India levelled the series with a dominant comeback. India amassed a huge 587 after being put in to bat, with Ravindra Jadeja contributing 89 and Shubman Gill scoring an incredible 269. Akash Deep, a debutant, was the game’s outstanding batsman, taking 10 wickets while tearing through England’s batting order twice. The hosts suffered a crushing 336-run loss after being knocked out for 407 and 271.

In a tense, low-scoring match at Lord’s, the pendulum swung back in England’s favour. Both teams scored exactly 387 runs in the first innings, with KL Rahul for India and Joe Root for England reaching 100. The second inning was the decisive factor in the game. India set up a chase of 193 after limiting England to just 192 because to Washington Sundar’s four-wicket haul.

But under pressure, India’s batting fell apart, and even though Ravindra Jadeja put up a heroic 61, they were all out for 170. With an outstanding all-around performance, Ben Stokes was England’s hero in that test match. He grabbed five wickets and scored a vital 33, winning Player of the Match as England seized a 2-1 series lead.

For India, the fourth Test at Old Trafford was a battle for survival in the India-England Test Series. Following India’s dismissal for 358, England’s top order exploded, amassing a massive 669 thanks to centuries from Ben Stokes and Joe Root.

India was in serious trouble in the second innings after falling behind 311 runs, but they were saved by a tenacious effort from captain Shubman Gill and KL Rahul. On the last day, a thrilling tie was achieved thanks to the resilience of Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja.
