Newzdaddy Environmental Updates

Imagine a gathering where experts from all corners of India come together to crack the code of making our world cooler and greener. That’s exactly what’s happening in Ahmedabad at the 15th ISHRAE Confluence & REFCON, hosted by the Ahmedabad Chapter of The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE).

Decoding Decarbonization: Making Sense of a Big Word

The theme of this gathering is “Decoding Decarbonization.” It’s a bit of a mouthful, right? But in simple terms, it means figuring out how to reduce the carbon footprint of things like air-conditioners and refrigerators to help fight climate change.

Pankaj Dharkar, the big boss of this event, kicked things off by saying that it’s super important to tackle climate change. He wants everyone to pay attention to making things like air-conditioners more efficient and creating better ways to keep our food cool, especially for our hardworking farmers.

The Big Names: Who Showed Up?

Picture this: The Minister of State for Forest and Environment, Mukesh Patel, was the chief guest. It’s like having a VIP at your birthday party! Alongside him were other important guests like Ajay Prakash, the Director at Gujarat Energy Development Agency, Bipin Talati from Gujarat’s Climate Change department, and Atul Bagai from the United Nations Environment Programme.

Atul Bagai shared some wisdom. He said that making things cool (literally) plays a crucial role in stopping climate change. He thinks that the people at ISHRAE, who are experts in heating, cooling, and all that fancy stuff, have a big responsibility in helping the world reach its goals for saving the environment.

What Happened on Day One?

The first day was like opening a treasure chest of cool ideas. Experts from different places, like Gaurang Patel, Angshuman Siddhanta, Pawanexh Kohli, Rajan Rawal, Anubhav Saxena, and Ankoor Sanghvi, shared their thoughts on how to make things better. They talked about tricky things like decoding decarbonization, which basically means finding ways to make our machines use less energy and produce fewer greenhouse gases.

They also chatted about things like using less energy in our cities and how to cool down buildings without using a lot of power. It’s like finding magic tricks for our gadgets and buildings to be more planet-friendly.

Day Two: Going Deeper into the Green Zone

On the second day, the discussions got even juicier. They talked about how to make our dairy farms greener, like using eco-friendly methods. Then there was a chat about refrigeration, making sure our fridges and freezers aren’t making the planet too hot. They also discussed the role of heat pumps, green refrigerants (the stuff that keeps things cold without hurting the Earth), and how technology, like smart machines, can help make our homes and offices cooler without being bad for the planet.

Big Friends Join the Party:

It’s not just ISHRAE doing all the cool stuff. They have friends from all around the world joining the party. Big names like ASHRAE WIC, IPA, IGBC, RATA, IPA, IIID, and IIA are all helping out. It’s like having a superhero team coming together to save the day, but instead of fighting bad guys, they are fighting climate change!

ISHRAE: The Cool Society

Did you know that ISHRAE has been around for 42 years? That’s like a really, really long time! They have members all over India and even in other countries—over 28,000 of them! They’re like the cool kids in the neighbourhood who know everything about making our homes comfy and our planet happy.

In Conclusion: Making the World Cooler, One Conference at a Time

So, in a nutshell, the 15th ISHRAE Confluence & REFCON is like a superhero meeting where experts, VIPs, and cool societies team up to figure out how to make our world cooler and greener. They’re talking about making machines and buildings use less energy, keeping our food fresh without hurting the Earth, and using smart technology to save the day. It’s like a big brainstorming party for the planet!
