The Plot Summary
Gujarati movie “Vishwa Guru” holds great possibilities for establishing India as a world power through the application of ancient wisdom rather than military might.
This movie addresses a difficult geopolitical issue while crafting a story that is both firmly grounded in history and seems current. As a seasoned movie critic, I went into this movie with a mixture of interest and mistrust. Even while the basic idea is strong, how well it is implemented is what really makes it successful.
The Story
A covert foreign organisation effectively obstructs India’s progress by employing a multifaceted strategy of division (Bhed), financial coercion (Dam), punishment (Dand), and deception (Sham). The first part of the movie is its strongest aspect. It expertly creates a feeling of tension and fragility, demonstrating how outside forces can take advantage of interior flaws. The plot suddenly changes course when this evil scheme is discovered by the Indian Bureau, a covert organisation of devoted patriots.
Vishwa Guru’s counter-strategy is its genius, or possibly its narrative gamble. The bureau does not retaliate through espionage or traditional armed force operations. Using the knowledge of ancient texts, especially the Svarveda, they chose a philosophical and spiritual route instead.
India is positioned as a country that prevails through intellectual and spiritual superiority, and this distinct “battle” is the main thesis of the movie.
The main theme of the movie is to save our youth from westernisation and losing their path of growth, and forgetting their Indian roots and culture.
Performance of The Cast
Mukesh Khanna (Kashyap sir), our Shaktiman and Bhishma Pitamah from Mahabharat, has acted for the first time in a Gujarati Movie. However, he has not spoken a single word in Gujarati. He has done an excellent job as an IB Chief.
Gaurav Paswala (Rocky Baba) is in the grey shade but has delivered a commendable performance.
Krishna Bhardwaj (Rudra), as we all know him through Tenali Rama and other TV serials, has proved that he is a strong actor.
The gorgeous, beautiful, and pretty Shraddha Danger has played opposite to Krishna Bhardwaj (Rudra), trust me, she has a very natural talent to mould into any character.
Overall, everyone has performed exceptionally well, and there are no flaws in their performance
Positive Points
- The film’s central idea of a spiritual and intellectual battle against modern-day threats is fresh and innovative.
- The overall performance of the ensembled cast is quite good.
- Thought-Provoking Theme, it gives thought to look behind and see what we were during ancient times, the strength we had with our Vedas and Upanishads.
- The film’s deep dive into the Svarveda and other scriptures provides a strong cultural anchor.
- The song in the background is good.
- A very strong message to the youth of India.
- Music is okay.
Negative Points
- The movie starts from the very first scene, and it keeps the same pace throughout. It seemed to me that the makers were in a hurry to spread the wise message to the audience as quickly as possible.
- The hero can convince four criminals to leave their crime and work for the nation in just one conversation, unbelievable.
- The last few minutes of the court scene were unbelievable, difficult to digest.
- Very few comedy punches; there was much scope for comedy punches in the story.
Final Verdict
Vishwa Guru is a special movie. It’s not a regular action movie. It’s a movie with a big heart and a great message. While it’s not perfect and can be a bit too preachy, it’s a good movie that tells a different kind of hero story. It’s a movie that shows how being wise can be the most powerful thing of all.
