It’s Time To Act! The Human Cost of Unchecked Gujarat Bridge Collapses is Too High
Gujarat has been hit by another sad event. A bridge fell, and nine people lost their lives. This comes after the government keeps promising investigations when bad things happen.
The Congress party in Gujarat is very upset. Dr. Manish Doshi, a spokesperson for the party, said that the ruling BJP government’s dishonest ways are causing these accidents again and again. He pointed out that many bridges being built in the state have already fallen down. Even after such serious and sad events, the government doesn’t seem to care much.

“After a terrible accident, the government’s only answer is that there will be an investigation,” Dr. Doshi said. He feels this is just the government trying to ignore the real problems. He believes that the government’s big mistakes led to this disaster, costing nine innocent lives. People had even asked for repairs to this bridge, but nothing was done.
The Congress party is now demanding a fair and complete investigation. They want a committee led by a judge from the Supreme Court or the High Court to look into what happened and make sure those responsible are punished.

Nine innocent people died when this bridge collapsed. The government has ordered an investigation, but Congress thinks it’s just a show. They say that even after past bridge collapses, no investigation reports have ever been made public.
It’s not just bridges, either. The Congress claims that dishonest builders who make bad roads are still getting new work. They believe that these accidents are happening because of the BJP’s dishonest ways. They suggest that companies give money to the ruling party to get contracts for building bridges and roads.
The Congress fears that in this latest bridge collapse, the Roads and Buildings Department will just write a report and pretend to investigate. They worry that in a few days, everyone will forget about it, and the issue will be pushed aside. It’s widely known that so far, no builder has faced serious punishment for bridges that have fallen down.
