In a major boost to India’s skill development landscape, the Adani Group has announced the country’s biggest ‘Skill and Employ’ program. This ambitious initiative is designed to train thousands of young Indians, making them ready for jobs in emerging industries like green energy, manufacturing, and high-tech sectors. It aligns strongly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ vision, which aims to make India a global manufacturing hub.
Staying true to Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani’s social philosophy — “सेवा साधना है, सेवा प्रार्थना है और सेवा ही परमात्मा है” (Service is devotion, service is prayer, and service is the supreme God) — the group is taking a big step toward empowering the youth of India.
To make this dream a reality, Adani Group has partnered with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), a well-known organization that brings the best of German expertise to India. Established in 1956, IGCC is not only the largest German bi-national chamber abroad but also the largest chamber of commerce in India. It has a strong network of around 4,000 member companies operating across various industries.
With this partnership, Adani Group aims to create a workforce that is fully equipped to meet the demands of modern industries. This move is expected to greatly benefit sectors like green energy, industrial design, manufacturing, project excellence, and several high-tech areas.
Taking this commitment forward, the Adani family has pledged more than ₹2,000 crore to set up an international standard institution and finish school at Mundra. The training center will focus on selecting students from technical and vocational backgrounds across India and polishing their skills to industry standards.
The goal is to offer these students not just training, but real job opportunities once they complete their courses. Certified students will be offered employment within the Adani Group or other leading industries, giving them a head start in their careers.
One of the unique features of this initiative is the use of German-standard dual vocational education methods. This means students will not only learn in classrooms but also gain hands-on experience in real industrial settings.
Speaking about this transformative program, Mr. Robin Bhowmik, CEO of Adani Skills & Education, shared,
“This partnership is key to developing high-level technical talent and supports our commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Our goal is to make every student industry-ready from day one by offering quality education, certification programs, and international exposure through faculty and student exchanges.”
Ms. Ute Brockmann, IGCC’s Deputy Director General and Head of DEinternational Services, also expressed excitement about the collaboration, saying,
“Our partnership with the Adani Group is a big step in preparing India’s youth for future industries. IGCC has strong experience in delivering German-standard certified vocational programs. We aim to make this a long-term partnership that benefits thousands of students.”
This initiative comes at a perfect time when India is seeing rapid growth in sectors like renewable energy, smart manufacturing, and industrial design. By training a skilled workforce, Adani Group and IGCC are not only providing jobs but also helping the country grow faster.
The program focuses on hands-on learning, which means students will be ready to work from their first day on the job. With employment opportunities at Adani Group and other industries, this initiative will truly change the lives of many young Indians.
The Adani Group’s ‘Skill and Employ’ program is a shining example of how public-private partnerships can help build a brighter future for India. It will play a crucial role in shaping the nation’s workforce and powering the ‘Make in India’ mission forward.
