India Makes History with Diabetes Screening World Record
Newz Daddy Health Care Updates
On the occasion of World Diabetes Day 2025, Team AURA PMT of Corona Remedies Limited, a renowned and trusted pharmaceutical company of India, headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, achieved a historic milestone by setting a New World Record for “Most People Screened for Diabetes in a Single Day.” On the occasion of the celebration of this World Record of India, Mr Nirav K. Mehta, MD & CEO of Corona Remedies Limited; Dr Kirtikumar Mehta, Chairman, and Mr Paavan Solanki, Editor-in-Chief of World Records India, were present and shared further details about the achievement.
World Diabetes Day is observed every year on 14 November to highlight the growing impact of diabetes on families and health systems. India is often called the diabetes capital of the world, with millions of people living with the condition, many of them undiagnosed. Health experts stress that early screening can prevent serious problems such as heart disease, kidney failure, blindness, and nerve damage. Against this backdrop, large-scale screening efforts are seen as one of the most effective ways to find cases early and guide people towards timely care.
Under the nationwide health initiative “PANDA STUDY” (Pan-India Assessment for Diabetes Awareness), Team AURA PMT successfully organised a Mass Awareness and Free Diabetes Screening Drive for citizens across India, aimed at promoting early detection, awareness, and preventive diabetes care.
Public health studies show that awareness programmes play a key role in changing health behaviour. Many people ignore early symptoms of diabetes, such as tiredness, frequent urination, or increased thirst. Free screening camps help reach people who may not regularly visit doctors due to cost, distance, or lack of knowledge. By combining education with testing, such drives help citizens understand their risk and take simple steps like healthy eating, exercise, and regular check-ups.
In this remarkable nationwide effort, 434 doctors from 233 locations across India collectively conducted 7,086 blood sugar screenings in a single day on 14th November 2025. This outstanding achievement has been officially confirmed and recognised by World Records India, establishing a new benchmark in large-scale public health screening initiatives.
Coordinating doctors across so many locations requires careful planning, strong communication, and local support. Medical experts say that involving practising doctors adds trust and accuracy to screening programmes. Blood sugar tests, though simple, must be done correctly to avoid false results. The scale of this effort shows how structured teamwork can deliver reliable health services even in a short time.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nirav K. Mehta, Managing Director & CEO, Corona Remedies Limited, said: “This world record is not just a number, but a reflection of our deep commitment to preventive healthcare and community well-being. Through the PANDA Study, our objective is to raise nationwide awareness about diabetes and encourage early diagnosis, which plays a critical role in improving long-term health outcomes. I congratulate Team AURA PMT, our participating doctors, and all stakeholders who made this impactful initiative possible.”
Healthcare leaders often emphasise that prevention costs far less than treatment. Early diagnosis allows patients to manage diabetes with lifestyle changes and basic medicines, reducing the burden on hospitals. Corporate-led health initiatives like this also support national health goals by filling gaps where public services may be stretched.
This achievement reinforces Corona Remedies Limited’s commitment to socially responsible healthcare initiatives, medical excellence, and collaborative efforts that address some of the most pressing health challenges faced by the nation.
Pharmaceutical companies today are expected not only to develop medicines but also to support public health education. Industry-led screening drives help spread correct medical information and reduce myths around chronic diseases. Such programmes also encourage people to seek professional advice instead of relying on unsafe home remedies or online misinformation.

Behind every large public health effort are teams that manage logistics, data recording, and on-ground coordination. Health campaigns of this scale rely on accurate reporting, proper training, and smooth execution to meet global record standards. Recognition by World Records India adds credibility and helps inspire similar initiatives by other organisations.
The successful execution of this world-record-setting initiative stands as a testament to the power of collaboration in healthcare. It marks a significant step forward in the fight against diabetes through awareness, screening, and early intervention.
Medical professionals agree that repeated and sustained screening efforts are essential to control diabetes at a population level. While one-day records create strong visibility, long-term impact comes from continued follow-up and patient education. Initiatives like the PANDA Study help keep diabetes in public conversation and remind citizens that early action can protect quality of life. In a country facing a rising burden of lifestyle diseases, such collective action sends a strong message that prevention, awareness, and shared responsibility can save lives.
