Veteran performer Mithun Chakraborty is well-known in both Tollywood and Bollywood. He was the 80s’ great star, but before he became well-known, Mithun faced his fair share of obstacles and setbacks. The actor contemplated suicide at one point, but he is a “warrior” who doesn’t know how to lose.
With the 1979 song Surakksha, Mithun experienced his first taste of fame. The Hindi cinema industry has never had a dancing star till he went on to become one. Disco Dancer, Sahhas, Wardat, Wanted, Boxer, Pyar Jhukta Nahin, Pyari Behna, Avinash, Dance Dance, Prem Pratigyaa, Mujrim, Agneepath, Yugandhar, The Don, Jallaad, and Agneepath are just a few of the movies he acted in. For his performances in Mrigayaa (1976), Tahader Katha (1992), and Swami Vivekananda, he also received three National Film Awards (1998). The actor faced difficult circumstances prior to building a successful career, which caused him to question his ability to succeed. The 72-year-old actor revealed to a newspaper that he even considered suicide because returning to Kolkata wasn’t an option.
The actor claimed he avoids discussing his difficult times so as not to “demotivate young artists.” The performer remarked, “Everyone experiences challenges, but mine was particularly severe. I had the impression that I would never be able to accomplish my objectives and even considered killing myself. Due to a number of factors, I was unable to go back to Kolkata. However, my counsel is to never consider taking your own life peacefully. I am a natural fighter, therefore I had no idea how to lose. See where I am right now.”
The Kashmir Files was Mithun’s most recent appearance; he will next be seen with Sunny Deol in the Bengali film Projapoti and the Hindi feature Baap.
