Rahul Dravid, India’s head coach, expressed optimism that Virat Kohli will return for the third and final Test against South Africa, which will be held in Cape Town from January 11 to 15.

Dravid’s comments came after India lost by seven wickets to South Africa in the second Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Due to back spasms, Virat Kohli was unable to captain the side in the second Test, and KL Rahul took his place.

“Virat Kohli, on all accounts, should be OK. He’s gotten a chance to test it out by running around a bit. With a few net sessions in Cape Town, I’m hoping to get some work done. He should be OK now. “From what I’ve heard and just talking to him, he should be ready to play in four days,” Dravid said during a virtual press conference.

“It has been hard wickets for both teams, South Africa’s fourth innings was probably their best with the bat,” Dravid said when questioned about India’s batting performance in the series so far. Yes, as a batting team, we may try to grasp a few important moments, and once we establish relationships, we can try to extend them. It was difficult in the opening innings, but we could have scored 55-60 runs more and made a significant difference.”Certainly, we’d like to improve our batting average. The guys who got the starts could have been able to turn them into 100s. That was the difference in the first game when Rahul scored a century for us and we came out on top. In this Test, Dean Elgar scored 96 points to lead South Africa to victory “Added he.

Dean Elgar scored an unbeaten 96 to lead the hosts to a 7-wicket victory, bringing the three-match series against India to a 1-1 tie. After a weather delay, play resumed on the penultimate day of the Test match, with South Africa starting the day with a 118/2 overnight score. South Africa was convincingly won by Elgar and Bavuma.

As the hosts leveled the three-match Test series at 1-1, the captain scored the winning runs.
“Hanuma Vihari was outstanding in both innings. Shreyas Iyer, who has previously batted well for us, batted magnificently in the second innings. The boys should be encouraged by the fact that they are performing well when the opportunity arises. It happens; it’s the nature of the game, and we can be confident in Vihari’s performance in this game,” Dravid added.”In this game, I wouldn’t say we were complacent, but we were.” We anticipated defending 240 in the fourth innings would be difficult, but we could have done a lot better with a little luck.

It’s something we can work on, but I wouldn’t blame it on complacency,” he continued.
