Indian Coast Guard Hosts Patriotic Bike Rally in Gandhinagar

The Headquarters of the Indian Coast Guard Region (North-West) in Gandhinagar organized an exciting bike rally covering a one-way distance of 48 kilometers on January 25, 2024. This rally, featuring 48 bike riders, marks one of many events planned by the Headquarters and its units across the ICG region in anticipation of the 48th Coast Guard Day.

The bike rally, starting from the Headquarters and culminating at Rashtriya Raksha University, captured the attention of bystanders along the route as the National Flag waved proudly, igniting patriotic fervor. Timed a day before Republic Day, the rally was inaugurated by Dr. Bimal Patel, the Vice Chancellor of RRU and a Member of the National Security Advisory Board.

Leading the bike rally was Regional Commander, Inspector General AK Harbola, TM, who actively participated in the event. Upon reaching RRU, the Flag Officer and the ICG Team engaged with students from the School of Integrated Coastal and Maritime Security Studies, RRU, discussing various maritime security issues and the role of the Indian Coast Guard.

The bike rally serves as a dynamic prelude to the forthcoming Coast Guard Day celebrations, highlighting the dedication of the Indian Coast Guard to safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests and promoting awareness among citizens.

As part of the series of events leading up to the 48th Coast Guard Day, the bike rally aimed to foster a sense of national pride and awareness about maritime security among the public.

Participants in the rally represented diverse backgrounds, including Coast Guard personnel, students, and enthusiasts, reflecting the community’s involvement and support for the Coast Guard’s mission.

The interactive session at Rashtriya Raksha University provided students with valuable insights into the challenges and strategies employed by the Indian Coast Guard to ensure coastal and maritime security.

The event underscored the Coast Guard’s commitment to community engagement and education, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between maritime stakeholders in safeguarding India’s vast coastline.
