Bajaj Finance and Police Join Hands to Knock Out Digital Fraud in Ahmedabad

A cybersecurity awareness campaign called “Knockout Digital Fraud” is organised by Bajaj Finance in Ahmedabad. It is a component of the company’s 100-city cybersecurity program, which aims to educate the public about various cyber threats and how to protect their finances from scammers.
Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, July 11, 2025: The largest private sector non-banking financial company (NBFC) in India, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BFL), a division of Bajaj Finserv, organised a cyber fraud awareness program in Ahmedabad today called Knockout Digital Fraud to educate internet users about various threats and safe financial practices.
The Reserve Bank of India’s 2024 guidelines on fraud risk management for NBFCs, which place a strong focus on early identification, employee accountability, and public participation to make the digital ecosystem safer for all, are in line with the Knockout Digital Fraud campaign.
The program’s main goal is to alert the public about common financial frauds perpetrated by con artists, such as phony social media profiles, WhatsApp groups, and websites that impersonate financial firms, make false claims of affiliation, and pose as their staff.
“To be vigilant and not fall for lucrative or unrealistic investment schemes floating on social media channels and always keep the sensitive information safe,” Ms Miral Boricha, Police Inspector, Ahmedabad Cyber Police Range, told the audience during Bajaj Finance’s “Knockout Digital Fraud” awareness initiative. Don’t think of cyber fraud as a social stigma, she said; it can happen to anyone. However, one must file a complaint immediately during the “Golden Hour” of 1930 to stop the fraud immediately.
“Most of the scams happen mainly due to two reasons – firstly, we don’t know enough about our own devices and technology, and secondly, it can be attributed to human greed and desire to make quick money,” said Police Sub-Inspector, Ahmedabad Cyber Police Range Ms. Karishma Chaudhari, speaking during the fraud awareness initiative. She advised people to exercise caution while using social media and digital platforms and to always consider their options before permitting apps to publish their personal information, as this is how most frauds occur.
Gandhinagar University Cyber Security Expert Shri Yash Kanani provided information on several frauds that are more common these days, such as e-SIM fraud, digital arrest, and WhatsApp hacking. “It is imperative to ride the digital wave, but one must exercise caution when using social media and never accept friend requests from unknown profiles on any platform, as this could be the beginning of a scam,” Kanani stated.
Speaking at the event, a BFL representative stated, “We place a high priority on our customers’ financial security. We continuously encourage everyone to be cyber safe by releasing advisories both offline and online, interacting with citizens in person, and posting on social media.
Ms. Miral Boricha, Shri Yash Kanani, Gandhinagar University’s Cyber Security Expert, Ms. Karishma Chaudhari, Assistant Sub-Inspector Gokulgiri Goswami, and Dr. Kamlesh V N, Vice Chancellor of Gandhinagar University, were among the experts and dignitaries in attendance. The event was also graced by retired ACP Anti-Corruption Bureau Mr. N D Chavan and retired Gujarat Police Inspector General Mr. Rajendra Jotangiya.
The online community can benefit from Knockout Digital Fraud’s helpful safety advice on protecting sensitive and personal data. This entails avoiding sharing PINs and OTPs, as well as clicking on dubious emails, SMSs, links, and QR codes, as well as downloading apps from unidentified sources.
