NABARD’s Partnership Approach with Banks and Institutions Applauded

With Hon. Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Ramilaben Bara as the Chief Guest and Dr. Gajanan Dange, Senior Social Activist, Chairperson, ‘Yojak’ as the Guest of Honour, NABARD celebrated its 44th Foundation Day in Ahmedabad. According to Hon. MP Smt. Ramilaben Bara, MP, the celebration of NABARD’s Foundation Day is a celebration of rural India’s progress. The four pillars of youth, women, farmers, and the underprivileged are being taken into consideration while formulating policies, she stated, under the direction of the Hon. Prime Minister. Smt. Ramilaben expressed gratitude for NABARD’s work in agricultural and rural development, highlighting the organization’s Watershed, Wadi, SHG, FPO, and other initiatives. She also mentioned that NABARD is active in grassroots initiatives across India through its District Development Managers. The government is implementing a number of programs to help the impoverished become self-sufficient, and NABARD is in a position to improve the state of rural India in this respect.
India is a country of villages, and over the past forty years, NABARD has become the lifeline of these communities, said Shri Gajanan Dange, Chairman, ‘Yojak’, as he congratulated the NABARD workforce on Foundation Day. Speaking about his experience working with NABARD since 1993, Shri Dange described the organisation as one that upholds professionalism and Indian values. He also mentioned that NABARD’s pilot projects, such as SHG, Watershed, and FPO, have been very successful and are currently being carried out on a bigger scale.
Shri B.K. Singhal greeted the representatives of banks and agricultural institutions from various parts of Gujarat, explaining that NABARD views them as partners rather than clients and that NABARD is dedicated to rural prosperity as a result of this collaboration. According to Shri Singhal, there are a number of reasons why more women are now involved in farming. Although farming is becoming more feminine, there is still more work to be done in terms of feminising farmland ownership, rural loans, and producer organisations (FPOs, OFPOs). Development won’t be inclusive and balanced unless women are empowered.
A tree planting event with the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” was held on this occasion, and the attendees saw the exhibit organised by the Farmer Producer Organisations connected to NABARD’s FPO program and the tribal development program’s beneficiary communities. They also offered recommendations for business development. The top-performing cooperative banks and cooperatives across a range of categories were also honoured by NABARD.
