Newz Daddy Gujarat Political Updates

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah chairs the meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Home Affairs on ‘Disaster Management and Capacity Building’ in New Delhi

This high-level meeting brought top officials together from NDMA, NDRF, Home Affairs, fire services and disaster training institutions to plan how India handles emergencies smoothly. The Modi government’s disaster response policy is based on four pillars of capacity building, speed, efficiency and accuracy. Using these four pillars, India has sped up relief, built better teams, acted faster, and made fewer mistakes during disasters like cyclones and heatwaves.

The Modi government has adopted financial, institutional and structural strengthening along with a multi-dimensional approach in disaster management. The government boosted funding for emergency teams, improved laws, and built rescue centers, making help reach people quickly when disaster strikes. A strategy is being formulated to deal with cloudbursts and landslides. Cloudbursts and landslides can happen suddenly in hilly areas. India’s planners are working on special maps and alert systems to warn villages ahead of time.

Home Minister stressed the need to spread awareness about disaster prevention at the district and gram panchayat levels. He wants district leaders and villages to know what to do before a flood or storm—like where to go, and how to stay safe—so everyone learns and stays ready. Union Home Minister thanked the members of the committee for raising the important topics of ‘Disaster Management’ and ‘Capacity Building’ and giving valuable suggestions in the meeting. He praised the members for speaking up and sharing ideas—because good plans come from many voices working together.

Members appreciated the steps taken by the Government in the field of disaster management. They cheered for new shelters, trained volunteers, quicker warnings, and stronger rescue teams, saying India is doing things right.
